Problems with Minecraft FPS lag.
Before I start, I want to say that my FPS stays around 100-500, but recently I have been getting the same fps but it the game feels slow and it feels like it is stuttering a lot.
PC Specs:
- ASUS GeForce GTX 770 DirectCU II OC 2GB Video Card
- Intel Core i5 4690K Quad Core LGA 1150 3.5GHz Unlocked CPU Processor
- ASRock Fatal1ty H97 Peformance Intel LGA 1150 ATX Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Memory CMY8GX3M2A1600C9
- Corsair CS750M 750W 80+ Gold Modular Power Supply
- Western Digital WD30EZRX WD 3TB Green 3.5” IntelliPower SATA3 Hard Drive
- Samsung 840 Pro 128GB 2.5" SATA III SSD MZ-7PD128BW
Sometimes the the sluttering makes the game unplayable. The strange thing is, this only occurs in Minecraft, this doesn't in any other games. If any other infomation is need please feel free to ask.

Try installing optifine, there are extra settings to boost FPS

where can i find them?

The optifine settings are located in the menu where you would find all of the other settings (or under the video and graphics subcategory). Although this is generally meant for people with less powerful hardware.
I think it's just the new snapshot. Try using the latest "stable" release if you aren't already. If that doesn't work, try going back to an older version of minecraft and see what happens then.

It's probably something that got tweaked, seeing as your not the only one with the problem. For others it seems to be the opposite.
You could try reinstalling minecraft, all of your drivers, etc, but you'll probably just have to wait until they update it again.

yep, since 1.8 I've had much worse performance. Nothing wrong with my setup either.
the "performance update".
the "performance update".

^^^^^^ Same for me.

This happens to me as well. I usually got 100 to 300 FPS. Now it rarely gets above 40... Strange thing is, I use shaders, but there is basically no performance change between shaders and regular minecraft, just sticks around 30 to 40 FPS.. I run a GTX 660 and an i3 4130.

same problem here

For me its the opposite, I used to get 30 fps (version 1.4.7 to 1.6), but now I get average 170... (snapshot 14w24 to version 1.8)

same thing here my fps used to be 80-178 now it stays between 1 and 38
