Promethea is a Tekkit server made by Minecraft players for Minecraft players. Our team of admins strive to offer players the best possible experience by paying attention to the user base and carefully accepting new applicants in a way that keeps the server balance and tick rate intact.
We prefer quality over quantity, and place a higher priority on a mature and friendly user base, than on having a server overflowing with new people every day. Do not let that deter you from applying if you feel like we could be a good match for you, however. We are all quite friendly and easy going.
Our current community consists exclusively of people over 18. This is our preferred target, accepting however individuals who show a good level of maturity regardless of their age.
The Promethean Council
As a community, we are interested in your voice. We want your input and your ideas. You are what gives this project life.
Therefore we are setting up a player council ("The Promethean Council"), consisting of a small group of players selected by the community as a whole. The council will be invited to discussions with the server administrators, to come with ideas, suggestions, critique and similar. All to make our community that little bit better.
We strongly believe in transparency and communicating with our users, and this is a step in that direction.
Mods & Plugins
EE: enabled, but items are uncraftable. A small selection of EE items will be available for purchase in the future.
CC: enabled, but turtles are disabled.
BC: disabled due to performance concerns.
Mining laser: uncraftable, but will be available for purchase in the future.

We use DynamicEconomy, a plugin that allows players to sell to & buy from a global marketplace and changes prices according to supply and demand. This allows for a fluid, non-stagnating economy.
We also have a combination of GriefPrevention & HawkEye, which should minimize (if not completely prevent) any attempts of griefing. GriefPrevention allows players to have their own, expandable area, to build in, and also allows for towns with flexible plot sizes.
LWC complements GriefPrevention by allowing players to protect their IC2 & RP2 machines along with all of their chests.
The plugin RegenBlock allows us to have a self-regenerating mining zone with a 24-hour cooldown, in case the server resources ever run out.
Server
While the server owners and a few players are Europeans, most of our user base comes from the United States. Therefore you will find people to play with if you live in the American timezone.
