So im having a bad annoying lag problem thats not wanting me to play the game. What happens is Ill start off with 250 fps,but over the time of about 5 mins I drop down to 40, and its the laggy 40 not the smooth type.
The only thing i can remember doin is reinstalling my gpu drivers for another game that had issues. but in the old driver i had a preset for the gpu,to try to increase my frames. but it has been for ever since i set that preset up and i have no clue what i did!
but i have an i5 4690k which has lots of single core performance,but yet its lagging?

I used to have a java glitch where it would run a process for no reason that wasn't even related to minecraft. Check CPU utilization when the lag happens.

Or a memory leak. Check command prompt while your playing and see what it does.

Memory leak? If you suspect one,
1. open WIndows Memory Diagnostics via Control Panel > Administrator tools > Windows Memory Diagnistics.
2. Provide admininistrator credentials or confirmation and click YES, if prompted
3. Click "Restart now & check for problems" or
"Check for problems next time you start your computer". (If you restart now, save your unsaved work (and close your programs))

Or just use task manager to see if memory usage keeps rising?
