Recording Software?
So, I have been doing youtube for about three months now, and everything has been going smoothly, I was using MSI Afterburner to record, and one day I went to record a video, and I started to lag until my computer crashed for some reason, I've tried just about everything, but nothing will work, so, what I need is help finding a new one, preferably free, I would like a full version too. If it is paid, I would prefer $15 or under for the license.
(Programs I've tried so far that don't work for me: OBS, MSI Afterburner, Hypercam 2)
Just if you were wondering, I'm running Windows 8.1 on an HP Pavilion Laptop.

Well, we use fraps it's pretty good!

Did you not read my last post, I'm all set, I don't need anymore help, I found one to use.

It's still nice to get more suggestions, no reason to be hostile and rude about it.
But your GPU doesn't support Shadowplay/Game DVR.
Use Action and then use a light weight encoder. It'll use a lot of space, but you will notice very little FPS drop.

Yeah, I guess that did sound a little rude, but thanks for telling me about shadowplay, and I might try that.
1
Well, what did you go with?
1
Mirillis Action, I love it, it's so much smoother.
1
Alright, I've got one, and I'm all set, thanks for your help!

If your using an nvidia graphics card, i recommend using a program called "ShadowPlay" It's really light weight and built into nvidia, search them up and find out about them. If that doesn't work for you, another solution could be a program called "Action" Its pretty much also light weight and more of an AMD thing, but works on both platform. Hope this helped!

Do you know if ShadowPlay works on my GPU, which is an AMD Radeon HD 7600G?
1
I'd still say use OBS. I have an Intel HD 3000 iGPU on my laptop, and it works fine.
1
I've tried OBS, and on playback the video is frozen to the first frame of capture.
1
Use the trial version of BandiCam. Has a water-mark but it's do-able.
1
Yeah, that's what I originally used when I first started, but I kept forgetting to renew the footage (start a new recording), so my recordings looked really weird. XD
1
Dude, I told you I bought a copy recently, and I can give you the information. If you would just tell me your skype. It's not business.
1
You can just PM me if you feel the need.

Bump.

Get Quicktime, and sound flower, if you have a mac. Fraps if you have Windows.
1
If you read the original post, I state that my budget is around $15 if the program isn't free. Fraps is $37.

You can get the cracked version of Dxtory and Sony Vegas Pro 13 and save 250$ A crack is like a version of the program that you download, that is not sold by the company, and therefore is free. My youtube uses cracks. If you dont want to use cracks, use Camtasia Studios (1 month free trial) It is realy good
1
Getting cracked is illegal and I don't want to have to pay for the product along with the fine. JS.
1
fraps, always good.
1
Unless you pirate it (like 80%* of its users did), it'll cost you around $30.

Yeah, just checked, and it's $37, same with bandicam being $39, along with DxTory being $46.

Get Action Mirillis! It's the best in my opinion, downside is, you have to buy it!
1
I have heard of it before and I know that it is $25, so, it is out of my budget.
I know I'm cheap. Please don't hurt me.

I'm not really interested in business, either, I just want a recording software that I can easily get legitimately and easily.

Whats your GPU, as Shad said.
1
What GPU do you have?
1
I think it's AMD Radeon 7500, I'm not completely sure though.
1
If that's true, I'm surprised you can play games. That GPU is 13 years old.
Install GPU-Z and run it. It should tell you your GPU's name.

Just checked it, AMD Radeon HD 7600G is the actual one.
1
I'm not sure if that iGPU is compatible with AMD's version of ShadowPlay (called GameDVR), but it probably is. If not, OBS is your best bet. It's streaming software but recently got an update that makes recording video with it extremely simple.
1
I've tried a few times to use OBS, and each time, the footage freezes on playback, so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or it's just my computer, but that doesn't work.

I recommend QuickTime Player (i'm not sure if you can get it for Windows though... It should be free)
Otherwise try ScreenCast-O-Matic It works pretty well, it is free but if you pay, 10 dollars I think It will remove the border and the watermark
Good Luck in the realm of YouTubing, I'll drop in sometime and watch some of your videos soon!

Thanks, I'll try QuickTime Player and if that doesn't work, then I'll look into screencast-o-matic

There are much better options out there. There are several great, free screen recorders you could be using.
Both of the ones he suggested cost money to record your screen (though on a Mac I think QuickTime's recording feature is free).
