Requesting pc build for modded Minecraft and CS GO
I have been looking so long for a pc build that can run any minecraft modpack, shaders, and counterstrike global offense. My budget is under $1000. I am not very good with pc specs, but I do know just a bit.

I'm not the best when it comes to PC builds
But this should be a good option

Replace the 970 with an RX480 8GB when it comes out, runs just slightly slower than the 970, but it is cheaper too.

The GPU isn't that big of a deal for OP though since hes going to be playing modded minecraft and CS:GO but having a good one will be nice for future proofing if you ever play GPU intensive games.

These guys obviously didn't read the post. They're suggesting computers that are suitable for running games much more resource intensive. You don't need anything this advanced for Modded MC and CSGO. My brother has a 200$ non-custom PC and can run them both perfectly at max settings.
Don't buy anything that's more expensive than 600$, you simply won't need it. You'll be able to run your games well, and you have 400$ left over.
If you're planning on playing next gen games on it, or upgrading eventually, than I'd go with all 1000$ and get a really good one.

If he wants a under $1000 build its not a bad idea to suggest builds for future proofing the build because chances are he will eventually want to play a game that requires a higher stats than a $200 build.
Also i'm interested in what computer he bought, by any chance do you know at least what brand it is?

Also, what GTzombiekiller said. Wait on any builds with 970s right until the Radeon 480x benchmarks are out (may already be out, haven't checked.)

Jayztwocents and Linustechtips did a benchmark already and Jayztwocents compared a 480 to a 970 ssc and the 480 had 1-3 fps less and i think in some tests it was higher. Same for Linus. I would wait for aftermark rx 480s because the reference got to about 80c on quiet mode or what ever it is called.

Plus the overclocking results have been pretty depressing. 5-6% tops and it hits the 150W wall (75W from the motherboard + 75W from the power connector).
OP, how is this?

If your budget is right under 1000, then I'd go with this build.

This list does not include an OS, monitor, keyboard and mouse

He asked for a build, not for a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and it'd be assumed they windows isn't needed, as you can get them for different ways cheaper, or just linux straight out.
"pretty good", not he's not a fanboy, he's telling him how it is, AMD's newest FX processor is 4 years old. You shouldn't use tech that old.

AMD is fine. I have a Pc with it and it runs pretty good.. But you are what I call a typical Fanboy... Cant have any change cam we...

I would still wait until aftermarket rx 480s come out since they will have better coolers and wait until future drivers since future drivers may increase the potential. Jay said that they won't but i don't believe that. But the 1070 is still better.

I got a PC for $750 that I built and I can run Minecraft in 500+ frames with shaders and optifine, and I can run the highest setting in CS:GO with 120+ fps.
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970
CPU: Intel core i5
RAM: 8 gb
I also have 2 fans.

So, for MC you want a good processor aswell as a good GPU... Then we will ditch AMD processors already because they only have decent multi core power, MC is still -snip- with this... As you said you aren't good with PC spec stuff I assume you won't overclock... But just in case you do want to overclock, I added it with overclock capabilities.
If you don't, just step back to the i5-6600 and remove the aftermarket cooler.
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/BVLpbj <- It doesn't have a GPU because I recommend you to wait for AMD's RX480 benchmarks, if it's good for the price they said, get 2 and run them in crossfire (If it doesn't buy an GTX 970/980, whichever you can pay from the rest of the budget)

You can prefer a brand but to completely diss someones building skills due a brand is wrong. AMD is perfectly fine for budget builds.
1
Key word budget, when you dont need a dedicated graphics chip, sure go ahead and get a a8 or a10 but not when your budget is 1k sure the fx 8xxx series has great multicore performance, but minecraft is a single core process
1
You would need a computer with the best graphics card, best memory, etc. and your budget is under $1000. Greeeeeeed. Running all that stuff will also require tons of fans for the computer or i'll overheat too.
1
who let you post here also for your information every single release of a cpu or gpu for YEARS now has got less due to advances in technology i could go in-depth but i doubt you will even bother to learn...

You're very wrong.
