Saving worlds before they are lost.
I think it's important that some of the standout minecraft projects are backed up by people other than the creators. The reason I am suggesting this is that some of the downloads might start to become unavailable in the future. I've also noticed that a lot of worlds are shared through MediaFire which does not provide long-term file storage unless you pay for it.

While I don't make this suggestion for actual distribution, only for backup, Google Drive gives you 15 GB free. Minecraft projects can easily be backed up there by the creators if they really wanted to.
It's really more of a creator obligation than anything else. Though as they made it, it's really up to them what to do with it, including tell people it's OK or not OK to do anything with the projects...
