Server ip Question
I was wondering, is your default Minecraft server ip (I'm talking about the one that shows up on Hamachi) the same as your computer's ip address? If I give my ip out to anybody before changing it (my server is still VERY new), would they be able to track my computer and stuff? I really want to let some people join it but I'm not very tech-savvy, so changing the ip address looks a bit too complicated for me...

I have no idea what you just said, I'm not very good at computer speak ! I did understand the first part, however. If I change my Hamachi address, will it affect the server in any way? There has to be some way I can publicly release my server and keep my default ip secret, right??? I'm not willing to use any paid services, as this server is just a small project for my subscribers to enjoy, but if someday I do end up having to leave Hamachi for any reason, would my server still be able to be recovered with all the work done on it saved?

You can't just change IP addresses, you can change the hamachi one, but they will still have access like a local PC on your network would have. You can get a openVPN server, sort of like hamachi, that has a static ip with port forwarding , and forward only 25565 so only Minecraft is exposed. Then you would just give out the VPN IP. An additional benefit of this is people would no longer need hamachi to join. The vpn server can be set up on a vps for about $15 a year.

Could I just change the IP using the server.properties folder if I don't make the server IP a domain name? Do I have to use a domain name for it to work?

Well, personally I used websites that give free domains.
Currently on a phone sorry, so I can't give link... Sorry

they can but no one will waste theyr time with you, and people that can do it, wont waste theyr time with a hamachi server.

I recommend changing the IP, unless you know the person well. Yes, they can track your computer, files etc.
If you need help on that, ask me and I would be willing to help
Hope this helps
