Okay, I am a noob. I'm also having trouble with the signature. Do I have to just use a picture or can I use a gif? And how would you put the picture there with no "Upload File" button.

You can use any image format. It doesn't matter. When you click on image link in the menu it will automatically add in the input box. Then your image should be on some server. like example.com/image.png . So now you need to place the url in between image tags like below.

Upload your image/gif into Imgur or Tinypic and copy the link
Click on "IMG" button. It will appear something like this:
Next paste your image link between the img things,it will look like this
And save
Hope it helped something

To upload a signature you need an image link, so you will probably want to upload your image onto Imgur (or find it on the internet somewhere already), then right click and hit "copy image url". Then when entering it into your signature hit the simg (so it fits properly) button and post the url in between the two simg and /simg
Hope this helped somewhat. Oh and btw, it works for gifs.
