Hey everyone, I know that there usually are a lot of these threads made but due to laziness and I wanna get advice given to me personally about what people think, I figured I'd make my own.

Currently, I'm in the works of starting my YT channel up. I've got basic equipment right now. Recording software that works generally well, an alright laptop, etc.
But some time soon I should be getting a big settlement check for a wreck I had gotten into a while back and I wanna invest some money into better equipment and such for gaming.

In shortest terms, I'd like for any of you to suggest and possibly link me to preferably a laptop that can run as well as a desktop when gaming, or a desktop that's just as good that would work genuinely well for gaming. I'm pretty much gonna be budgeting myself in between $400 - $800 as I don't want to exceed $1000.
So, go ahead and throw your suggestions/links/etc. out there and hopefully some will help!

Thank you!

You should be able to play most modern games at medium to high settings at 1080p 60fps. But you can also pick a card a GTX 970 which is faster than a GTX 960.

I'd wait on a 970 for now until the benchmarks for the RX 480 comes out.

Why are you recommening a 4 year old cpu?
And you dont need 750 watts
Here is a much better system, since minecraft is single core based you dont need 8 cores and intel has much better single core performance

The AMD Chip is the same or better than the i5 but much cheaper. The 750 watts is for future proofing the build. He may want to SLI or install drives in the future, I don't know.

No, the 8320 is not even close to older i5's in performance, I have a 8320 and a 3570k, and the 3570k just kills it at even stock speeds.

There is literally no reason to go with an AMD chip right now, other than for an APU.

Here is what I'd go with. It's a little more costly, but this will completely destroy anything and everything you throw at it.

Here's a build with a 980 Ti. And this will beat your -snip- computer.

Except for the fact that the 8320 will bottleneck the 980ti, and will perform a slower in games vs the 6500 and 390x, so sure I guess it will beat it, if you're playing a game made in 2011, that runs good on 8320's.

Not to mention a 1070 which is a bit faster than a 980ti is cheaper (if you can find one).

Also note to mention, you don't even have an aftermarket cooler for the 8320. Those things run hot, you should know that.
