This time I am not sure if the creator of the website asked permission to post people texture packs and mods on his website. It looks more like a blog, hell he is using Wordpress to run the site, but with Facebook commenting API (OH GOD NO! ). Would like to try and confirm this with some of the creators of the packs on his site, if I can find there contact information.

I looked there, he credited me, but he did not ask my permission to post it. He does use my download link though. Maybe he doesn't know that he should ask permission.

He's still getting profit from this, I believe.

I tried posting a comment, but when I revisited, it wasn't there.

It seems that more than one people is working on the website.

Really? You think Google removed the site? People here know nothing about how the internet works...... Obviously you contacted the blog host which is the correct thing to do. But saying that google removed it just makes me want to cry at that level of stupidity. Google does not run the internet, i don't know how you could think this.

As for all you people crying about people making money off your content, i can definitely say you should not be crying. As long as they are giving you credit, whatever ads revenue they make is gonna be incredibly small AND the guy deserves it for promoting your work. Hes not getting cash for claiming your work as his own, hes getting it because hes advertising you.

There is so much butthurt on this forum that it makes me sick how people are upset because they cant make any cash off their creations, so when someone else does they get all offensive. The fact this thread exists is stupid.

Excuse me, but this is absolutely and completely wrong, at least within the United States - and by extension, any of the other countries who are co-signatories to the Berne Copyright conventions.

Anything you make - write, draw, paint, sculpt, etc - is immediately and instantly under copyright, with you as the owner, as of the instant of creation. No notice, registration, or other action is required by law.

Of course, actually registering a copy of your Work with said proper authorities does HELP - because it serves to establish an inarguable date on which you can claim to be the creator of that Work - forcing any counter-claimants to somehow prove that they created it prior to then.

But, again: registration is not required at all.

You, sir, are a highly idiotic douchebag. I never said that google removed the site. I only said that I reported the site to google. That means the site will get less traffic. I knew it would still be there. Thank you for your hypocritical idiocy.

B) it is still my work, nevertheless, and I never gave him permission to promote me. There's a difference between promoting and stealing. I never planned to make profit off my work. I do own them if I made them...look it up "bub" As soon as I post them, it's as good as having them notarized to most who would judge such a thing in a court. I just went through a similar case...and it was about a simple poem wrote through email. Again...get a clue
