I intend to create my own texture pack soon, and I have one simple question to post to everyone. What is your "ideal" dimension for a texture pack?

16x16?
32x32?
64x64?
128x128?
256x256?
512x512?

Your comments will help me decide my own dimensions. (Unless it's 256x265 or 512x512. Screw that. Way too lazy.)

I like 32x32 the most but some texture packs of that resolution give me too much of an eyesore so I'd rather stick to 16x16.

Ive made one full texture pack and im working on another and I must Say I like the 16x16...i think it offers more of a challenge because there is less room for error. although in the one im working on now I will probably make the items higher res i guess

It's not actually the first time I've created a texture pack from scratch, but they were mutually exclusive for a server or a few youtubers. I've created two 16x16's, two 32x32's, and one 64x64 from scratch (this doesn't include the countless amounts of texture pack editing I've done for personal aesthetics). I've not tried making any of the other dimensions quite yet.

This is going to be my first "publicly released" pack though.

Looking for everyone's personal preference as opposed to what would be better or easier for me. I can assure you that any of them are quite doable on my end (well, aside from 512x512 or 256x256, but that doesn't stop me from listing them if it's a preference)

I'd say if it's your first stick with 16x16, but if it's not go with 32x, it's easy(ish) and isn't extremely resource intensive, making my own I discovered 32x is the best, fun to make, runs on my computer,

My verdict
32x 7/10

+Better detailed
+Not resource demanding
-Difficult to make
-Harder to make if you don't have templates to work with.

This is reasonable but I still think 64x isn't very resource intensive. But yes, I agree with that 32x is a very nice size. If you're new 16x is good but if you're lazy... 8x is just fine. Don't expect miracles though.

64x64 is a good size. Leaves room for a good resolution and nice artwork but doesn't clog up computers usually. Making tools in 64x64 and then the terrain items in 32x32 is a good way to may your texture pack. I find that that works the best.

I think 64x64 is the best resolution but it takes ages to draw. I recommend 32 or 16 to start of with because it's faster and easier

My pack is 16x (pleadiacraft) so I have choosen 16x. 32x is also good. But for the higher ones it just wont match with mc.

I prefer a 16x16 or 32x32 because I love the pixelated look for some awkward reason, possibly bringing me back to older games I used to play xD. (Weird right?)
