Here's just a story my brother and I worked on my phone. I honestly think it's a bit cringey at times, but let me know what you think.

The King and Queen
Many years ago, the world was governed by two rulers, the King and the Queen. These two acted as guardians of all the worlds, uniting them against the forces of chaos. But there was a time when chaos ruled the world, and the innocent suffered.

During the times of the Midnight Era, monsters constantly attacked civilians and villages were left in ruins. It was hard for anything to grow and bloom as the dark clouds, severe droughts, devastating plagues, and just overall destruction caused plants to wilt early. Starvation was the the least of humanity's problems, as thousands perished each year from the war. Many tried to fight the monsters by gathering volunteers in a makeshift army and going out to hunt them, with nothing but pitchforks, kitchen knives, and wooden shields. Few returned from these hunts. These fights were one-sided, bloody, and gruesome. All experienced loss, as death infected the lives of innocent in this time. All prayed to the gods, pleading for a savior.

The elders foretold of a great occurrence in the universe, something that would change it forever. Their visions saw a great power looming across the land, but where it went they were not sure. The elders demanded that an army be raised to search for the power, in hopes that it could bring peace to the land. Hope only seemed like a luxury, but some were willing to volunteer. As the final goodbye was said, the soldiers trekked towards the mountain to meet their fates.

The armies lay in wait at the base of the rocky formation, anxiously waiting for the scouts to return. Among them were two seemingly normal warriors, a young man and woman. The two stood next to each other in a staid posture, being too riddled with worry to talk to one another. They exchanged a short glance until a scout's cries stole their attention. He blubbered about the coming enemy as blood gushed out of his wounds and mouth. As he finished the last word of his report, he wheezed out a heavy breath and slumped to the ground. Soon the soldiers spotted the monsters upon the horizon, and immediately shifted their stance to prepare for battle. With all their might, each side charged into battle.

The outcome was evident from the start. The monsters were ruthless, leaving a path of carnage behind them as they charged through the battlefield. The soldiers seemed to be making no progress towards victory. The man and woman looked around the destruction, letting their fears control them. The two were so on edge that they jumped by backing into one another. Their gazes locked as they caught sight of each other, looking at one another with growing curiosity.

The two could tell that they wished the same thing: to escape. With a simple nod, the warriors bolted around the battle, looking for any way out. As the two ran frantically among the chaos, a monster caught sight of the woman. A disgusting beast with a sickly green hue, powerful arms, and club nearly as large as a human's body. But its most horrifying trait was its thirst for destruction. With a powerful swipe of his club, he knocked her to the ground with the wound holding her down. But the man was vigilant, and saw the monster strike. He started to be filled with a powerful rage, from where he did not know. A glowing aura started to form around him as he cried out in determination. He slashed his sword in all directions, taking out all those who tried to get near the woman. His eyes shined with a golden light, warning his enemies of his deadliness. However, he knew this power wouldn't last long, and it would take a miracle to save them both.

The woman struggled to her feet, mysteriously filled with energy and life. She checked her wound, but all that remained of it was a gold light that seemed to erase the damage with ease. She looked over to the man, whose aura was growing dim and his limbs were getting evidently weaker. The pain was still prominent as she hobbled over to the man, a purple aura around her intensifying. The man's aura had gone now, and the monsters were grinning in murderous intent. She watched as he fell to the ground and the monsters charged at him. The woman yelled out and forgot her pain to rush over to the man's body to shield him. But as she touched his hand, her whole body was wracked with pain. She felt like she was being attacked by a thousand swords. Still, she refused to let go of her friend. The man's aura flickered back to life, and he joined the woman in screaming out in agony.

The monsters looked upon the powerful sight in fear. While the man was taken up in an orb of gold, the woman was swallowed up in a sphere of amethyst. The two let their powers take hold of them, allowing them to achieve a greater form. As their auras faded away from the warriors, they were no longer human. In their place stood two magnificent hydras, one of gold and white and the other of amethyst and black. They looked upon the battle scene with the eyes of demons. They surveyed each soldier, picking out enemy from ally. The beasts took to the skies, circling the battlefield like falcons searching for their prey. Their colossal wings blocked the light from the heavens, the only illumination being their glowing auras. Fangs bared, the two hydras simultaneously dove towards the earth, determined as ever to defeat their enemies. The monsters now stood no chance. The creatures took out the entire legion with just a few slashes of their mighty talons. Monster after monster fell to the mysterious beasts, and it was not long when their enemies admitted defeat. The white flag was flown high above the carnage as the monsters fled back towards the mountains.

The man's hydra still hissed with anger, growling in challenge at the retreating enemy. But the woman's beast seemed content with its victory and assumed a more relaxed posture. As its aura faded to a cerulean hue, the scales on its body changed from shining black quartz to glittering blue topaz. A rainbow of all colors seemed to follow the beast's every move. The man's hydra saw no such change, leaving him even more puzzled about the woman's motives. However, he noticed more gems upon the woman's avatar: sparkling silver tears lined her cat-like eyes, which expressed a great worry for what the man did not know. She raced around the battlefield, scouring each of its corners as if she had lost something. The man's hydra walked towards her, seeing if there was any way to comfort his friend. But as he approached, he noticed that the woman's hydra was trying with all its might to pull something out of the wreckage. The man's avatar used all its strength against the rubble, toppling it with ease. Then he saw what had concerned the woman so much: a wounded soldier, barely breathing but still alive. The man soon wondered if there were other survivors scattered throughout the battlefield, still clinging to life and hoping to be saved. He looked into the eyes of the woman's hydra, seeing the hope and trust being placed upon him. He picked up the injured man and gently secured him on his back. The woman's hydra seemed to smile, and then returned to searching the wreckage. The man figured he should do the same.

As the sun started to fall behind the mountains, the man's hydra searched the aftermath for the woman's hydra. He soon found her crouched over some makeshift graves, her sorrowful cries echoing throughout the valley. She paced along the the final resting places of those who had died fighting, with flowers blooming in her path, adorning the ramshackle tombstones with poppies, roses, and some flowers that the man did not recognize. It was a pitiful sight, with the man fighting back the tears that tore at his eyes. He nudged the woman's hydra softly, trying to comfort ,her as best he could. She looked back at him, but oddly smiled while her eyes welled with sadness. She lifted her colossal wing, exposing the survivors to the man's view. They still looked worse for wear, confirming they wouldn't survive the night. But something seemed to click for the man, and his aura briefly shone with a greater brilliance. The aura encircled the survivors, seeping into their wounds and repairing them. It made the man feel a bit groggy, but her happiness was worth it. With the soldiers now merely sleeping out of exhaustion, the man piled them onto the backs of their avatars. It seemed that they both agreed it was time to go home.

Should I make a continuation of this story? I'm not quite sure how to continue it though.
