What is your budget? What is your country/currency? What games will you be playing and what other programs will you be running?

Well, it depends. Do you have someone to help you? Are you interested in getting a pre-built one? Are you sure that you'll still want a gaming PC in five years? It all depends on time, skill, and budget. Computers like these cost a lot in parts, and generally even more for prebuilt. Whatever you do, I recommend getting "state of the art" stuff from 6-14 months back. Parts don't improve all to great with the next generation, so you might as well save a little money while you're at it. Also, I would recommend using a windows operating system. Macs are a little strict as to how much memory, power and programs you can have.

It will cost bucket loads of money and about 20 years worth of experience if you want to make a decent one yourself

Not true at all.
Building a computer is cheaper that buying one pre-made since there is no labor cost to build the computer.
Putting it together is daunting, but all it takes is looking up videos on the internet, really. Electronics have a funny way of fitting together upon assembly: if it doesn't fit easily, it doesn't go there. As long as you don't force parts together, there isn't a real risk of breaking anything or messing something up.

My dad doesn't have 20 years of experience, and he can build a PC easily c: It'll probably take not even a years worth of experience...

Im saying it will take bout 20 years of training to make a extremely good gaming PC from scratch, not some bad normal PC built from parts you found in a shop

Eh, that's right, but why would you make a good gaming PC from scratch.
