Updating someone else's mod?

I hope i'm posting this correctly if not please let me know... anyway there is a mod that i love that hasn't been updated since 1.5.2. It's one of my favorite mods so i would like to know if someone could unofficially update it for me to use in 1.7.10. The mod is called Simply Horses.

1zera1 if you can find the src code for it then maybe someone may be able to update it , you find it and ill give it a shot

if i use the youth digital mod thing ill try to update it but ill put it in my mediafire or something and only send it out privately to you but if i get the permission from the creator ill post it on pmc if the moderators and original mod creator allow me to but for now just a url to the mediafire thing k in a folder called "Mods By Others Updated By Me" k but im not sure if thats actually legal but im not putting it through a bank linked adfly thing so i think its legal

two things... first, make sure the mod creator is ok with it ad two, if he is don't post it on PMC you might get a temp ban

If it's not on PMC then he can probably post it on PMC anyway.

My sister asked me to install this mod for her on my computer, I was shocked to find I had to downgrade to 1.5 and install Forge.. It would be cool for someone to update this to the latest version.

Maybe he doesnt want to or some other personal reasons. I don't really care if thats the case i would just love for someone to be able to update this I would if i could but i have no expierence at all...

If I had the time and experience with Minecraft mods, I would certainly update it to the latest version. I'm sure it would be considerably harder to implement as horses have now officially been added into the game.

if a modmaker stops updating his mod that their choice, you cant rely on them to constantly update things they no longer wish to work on

Which is why im not relying on them to update the mod. Im trying to update the mod to use and have fun with because like most modders these days, they will stop updating/adding to a mod because they think they can do a better mod or just quit in general. And I totally agree with A5H73Y.

i searched for it but thats pointless (to me) to update because it adds horses and they are already in minecraft since 1.6.4 atleast

They're special horses that can pull wagons and what not so please can somebody help update it.

Well if that is the case for this mod and it has this license i would still like someone to help me update it to 1.7.10 so i can put it my modpack. So can someone help me? I have no expierence modding or coding.
