Video/Graphics Cards
Hello,
What are some good graphics cards that could run shaders no problem, but aren't too expensive (Less than a hundred)?

I don't think anyone suggested he get a 660 Ti.
1
Sorry it is $110 but it will destroy the HD 7770.
The HD 7770 is like $120

$100 after mail in rebate. There is no r9 260x for $100
1
The R7 260X is a lot stronger than the HD 7770
1
I don't need something extremely strong, plus I got it for 60 bucks.
1
U got a 7770 for $60?
1
1
Y when u can get a R9 260X for the same price?
1
could you link in the $100 r9 260x.. I can only find a $110
1
Ok everyone thank you for all your help and suggestions. I ended up going with the
Radeon HD 7770.
Radeon HD 7770.

It is through AMD evolve client.
Which is powered by Raptr.
It is not as bad as u make it out to be and i can't even find a 660ti to check the price.
Raptr is pretty good. Also, I checked out for 660ti, I couldn't find it in Newegg (out of stock), 2 Amazon links (out of stock), while on 2 other links, it was $300+.

AMD has a feature called game DVR it is like shadowplaey.
That's through the Raptr game client, which IMO is annoying to deal with.

What are the specs of the rest of your system or at least what power supply do you have?
1
Well, this guy is right.

Those are not worth the money, and won't run shaders very well. the first one uses DDR3 memory (less bandwidth than GDDR5), and neither are powerful enough for shaders.
1
From what I saw, the 740 can run shaders pretty well, but Radeon HD 7770 was fairly better.
1
The r7 260x is what I will recommend.
1
Well, a r7 260x is WAY better.
1
On top of that u shouldn't get a 660 either.
1
What about a Radeon 7770? How well would that be?
1
It's about the same as an R7 260X. It should run shaders fairly well, check YouTube for videos of people running shaders on x GPU to see real-world benchmarks.

Reason?
1
1. They r last gen.
2. They are overpriced.
2. They are overpriced.
1
Last gen doesn't mean it's a bad card. I sprung for a GTX 660 3GB for my PC and love it. I'm very happy with the way it plays current-gen games. That being said, my card isn't really an option for OP because of the price for the extra dedicated memory. Regardless of dedicated memory, the GTX 660 isn't a bad card. I would certainly reccommend it if OP had the cash for one and if they plan on playing anything more demanding than Minecraft.
1
For the price of a 660 u can get a R9 270X. The R9 270X is better than the 660
1
The R9 270X is only about 10% better than the 660 and is about the same as a 660 Ti.

1
That's far more helpful than "they're overpriced". I would still pay more for a GTX 660 or another compatible 600 series card just because of Shadowplay, but that's just me.

I bought the GTX 750 TI, you can record any game with shadowplay (built in) and you will get 100 fps+ with shaders on minecraft. But minecraft is very CPU heavy.
1
The GTX 650 *should* run shaders *fairly* well, but I can't guarantee it. Another good (and probably better) option is the AMD R9 260X.
I have a 660 and it runs shaders very well, but it'd gonna be hard to find one for under $100. Mine was on sale when I got it for $180.
closer75 JRHEHmm, you may be able to find a NVidia GeForce GTX 660 which can run shaders with recording nicely. You might want to search places like eBay and Amazon for one since retail price is over $100.

I think any GTX X60 series is the best. I own a GTX 460 and a GTX 560.... I am very happy with both. You can get GT 610 or GT 630 for under $100 easily..... It will work fine, but for value you wise you would get much more out of your $ by going with a GTX 660. Just don't get any AMD cards if you like to play a large variety of games.... They offer more performance for dollar value but there game support is much more limited then NVIDIA cards
You would also need at least 450 watt minimal and one 6 pin off of your power supply going with a GTX 660.

NEVER get a 610 or 630
