There should be a feature that would go into your, somewhere in the forum GUI that you could view posts you seen in the past because you may want to reference to them later in case, for example you may not be able to immediately answer a help post but you may decide to later so that should be added. That should especially be added as I may be on another PC while on PMC or my browser's history is cleaned out by a program and I may want to reference to a particular post in the future

Viewing habits are something I think I'd rather a site not track simply for privacy reasons. It's a very thin line between definitely not okay and mildly helpful.
Honestly, I haven't come across a post I want to see develop that I didn't also post a reply to. Posting a meaningful reply on the thread lets me see the thread later via "View your posts" and that's all I've ever needed.
Edit: Not sure what browser you're using, but Chrome's history has a search function. I find a lot of things, not just threads I've viewed here on PMC, by searching via my History.

I very, very rarely do such, I only MAY do it usually if
a) it breaks a rule or;
b) it contains a tutorial for something that is very hard

There's literally a button that says "View your posts".

Dammit, you beat me to it. xD
But yeah, seriously, the button highlighted blue that says "View Your Posts" will do exactly that.

But that is only for posts YOU made, not posts you viewed
