Making palettes: Starting from the lightest colour, it should be like this:
Hue goes down,
Saturation goes up,
Value goes down.
Try to stick to only four colours for your palette.
Make sure your palette is consistent and doesn't contain any colours that would look yuck with the overall tone.
When making your skin, don't be sad that it doesn't look nice when you haven't even finished it! Once you've finished your shading, your skin will look beautiful!
When shading hair, don't make it all random and yuck.. Unless you've meant for it to look yuck and messy.
That's it, I guess,

Example of yuck hair shading:
Example of yum hair shading:
This character is supposed to have very curly, thick hair. Do you notice that the yummy hair shading looks a little more realistically curly than the yucky hair? The yucky hair looks weird and too patterned. It could work out if this character had very odd, messy hair.

1. Shade, its very important to shade your skins, don't include just the dark shading include the lighter shading. This indicates depth and so such, Gives more detail. What I do is I start with 3 shade darker in the corner of that part of the skin, then 2nd shade above and to the side. and so on.
2. I start with the face, for I know and makesure I aint making the skin backwords. Then you can edit the face later on near the end.
3. Put some effort, I know a lot of people do. But see when I first started making skins it took me 10 min to do a skin, now that I shade and so such, it takes me 2 hours to work on a skin.
4. Try to make something different. Because when it comes to skin making the possibilities are endless. I see like 2000,000 different people making a freddy fazbear skin. TRY TO MAKE SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT!!!!! Like I made several new skins nobody has really ever seen before. Make your skins unique, like instead make a all black panda bear with white patches around his eyes. Ya know, just use your imagination. Challenge yourself to be a better skinmaker, everyone has that potential, it just takes some practice.
I hope these tips somewhat helped ya out! - Pokezilla101
