What's the best gaming laptop for $1330 / £780?
DO NOT TELL ME TO DO DESKTOP! I know they have more performance, but are they portable? No!
Please look at the SPECS of the laptops, not the fame. I know Lenovo and ASUS are well known, but Cyberpower is also very good.
As the title says, I'm wondering what the best gaming laptop if for £780. I don't want anyone telling me to buy a desktop, because, don't worry, I will! I'm getting a laptop first, then getting a desktop.
I've seen a few good gaming laptops so far:

Can you guys take a look the the CYBERPOWER laptops please? They are not as famed, but are better priced and you get more performance from them. Don't just suggest mainstream brands. I know for a fact that the cyberpower laptop (hx7-200) has more FPS than the ASUS when recording. I want some opinions based on SPECS, NOT FAME, please! I do find the Lenovo better for my budget than the ASUS. I would go ASUS/MSI if my budget was higher though.

Like i told u looking at the specs i think u should go with Lenovo.
1
Yes okay that's fine. Not complaining about Lenovo votes
I actually put the ASUS there to see what ppl would vote for. The ASUS has the least specs of all these laptops, and an outdated GPU (video card), also 250GB less HDD space. This means a less performance, yet 3 ppl voted for it? i think that's a bit... dumb.

Fighterbear12AfootplutoMusicrafterThe i5 version is the cheapest, there was a deal for $740 for a while but it's disappeared and thus is back to $1100. The i7 version probably meets your $1330, it's likely better too.
U don't need a i7 because the main difference between a i7 and a i5 is that i7 has hyper-threading and the i5 doesn't. And u probably not doing heavy threaded workloads.
So i would go with the i5
I'l be doing graphics so yes to the i7...
Graphics is not that heavily threaded so a i5 will do just fine.

That's £1,286. That's WAY over my budget xD

The "best" is still the Alienware 17 but its totally over priced.
1
Alienware is overpriced and poorly built.

Razor is overpriced.

A majority of intel processors are hyperthreaded, my laptops i3 is hyperthreaded.
i3, i7, and Xeons are hyper-threaded i5 is not.

I have an ASUS G46VW and it works great. I can record on it at 24fps with the game steady at 40fps on medium graphics. On a brand-new model Minecraft can reach 110fps on default worlds on maxed out graphics, on the lowest i5 version (not recording). The i5 version is the cheapest, there was a deal for $740 for a while but it's disappeared and thus is back to $1100. The i7 version probably meets your $1330, it's likely better too. A 500GB hard drive instead of default 750GB is cheaper, but 1TB is WAY more expensive, probably around $1450, but is better.
I really trust ASUS for their stuff, it's usually really good. Lenovo replaces their HDMI with something weird, so I wouldn't go with that. Toshiba and HP are definitely out, Toshiba and HP both shortcut their F keys (you don't have to press Fn before they do stuff) so it makes for a terrible Minecraft playing experience. HP overheats so much, too, so despite their excellent? value (some PC's top out the G46VW in specs for over $100 less than my already $400 reduced deal) you oughta get a heavy-duty cooling pad and an external keyboard for those.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Bump because I need more votes. Remember to take a close looks at the specs of ALL Laptops please. Thanks.

U can always hook it up to a TV.
1
I believe the point here is for it to be portable. As much as I would like too hook it up to a starbucks TV, the odds of that happening without me getting hot coffee down my trousers is 10 to 1.
1
Yes I will go to Starbucks to play games.
1
Me too .
1
U can move a miniATX case as good as a laptop. I have seen desktops that will fit in u hand.
1
You still need a monitor for it..
1
Because I can move a laptop and because my dad doesn't want a desktop first. I know laptops have bad performance compared to desktops, EVERYONE knows that! There's no need to tell me that.
1
And y do u not want a miniatx they r as small as a laptop.
1
Ehhhhhh no. I don't think he wants to lug around a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
1
I said don't tell me to get a desktop -_- I should have said: My dad wants me to get a laptop so I can't do anything much about it. The laptops have good performance anyway so I can't complain.
I did want a desktop originally though :/

A laptop has terrible performance to a desktop.
1
The Lenovo Y50 looks pretty sweet. If I was going for a gaming laptop, I would get it. (After a desktop though… Nothing beats a gaming PC ;D)
1
Why a laptop first? That should be the last thing you buy, if you even buy one... You buy desktop first, and get all that out of the way, and have your main gaming set up, and then buy a miniatx computer, or a (ew) laptop for portable use...
