What is the method to becoming a moderator?

I know this is one of the most over asked questions, but I couldn't find an answer, so I decided to start a forum thread to ask about this. Is there any way to submit an application? All answers are appreciated.

So.. you tried searching "mod" then gave up? Didn't even try "moderator"? Not very resourceful, a quality that we require of our moderators :p

I'm sorry, but according to the rules, you've almost just guaranteed you will never be a moderator by posting this. Just pray a mod never sees this and maybe you'll still have a sliver of a change some years from now. Also, READ THE RULES.
