So I was deep in my mine, digging away for diamonds...
hit a deep vein of soil when suddenly Im bitten!
I look down and this little buglike thing is coming at me so I hit it with the pick-axe instinctively and, to my regret, killed it instantly.
-small
-white/grey
-4 legs/spines either side
-black eyes
-maybe 15 pixels long
-head 3 pixels wide including eyes, 2 tall, 2 deep
-body 6 pixels wide at widest, excluding legs/spines, bulbous, tapering
What on earth is/was it?

I punched stone to later find out I need a pick to mine it.

You know that sound that randomly plays? That creepy, nether-like sound? The first time I heard that, I suspected Herobrine and since have never played singleplayer survival with sound on.

There are several "ambiance" sounds that randomly play in low-lit areas such as caves. I always hated those sounds when I was a noob, and even to this day. Does anybody here hate that music playing on the title screen? It is way too loud in my opinion.
Speaking about when I was a noob, for the first few days playing Minecraft, I mined a house into a mountain without even knowing there were pickaxes in the game. I also attacked a creeper through a door, not knowing that it would still blow up, then a second creeper blew up afterwards!

Yeah, things were pretty good back then. The first time I went to the End I went in creative with enchants like crazy and the dragon was right on top of me......screamed my head off, slammed my laptop shut, and the next day I deleted the world two seconds before I noticed it was the world with my favorite build on it.

I once found a heap of diamonds and mined every last one with a stone pickaxe.

Hey, it's okay dude. My first house had an unlit basement, and I freaked out when I discovered I had a zombie infestation.

haha, thats ok! when i was a minecraft noob i FREAKED out because i found lapis lazuli, thought it was diamond. sad when i found out it wasnt

It's ok, I made a horrible mistake like that when I was a Minecraft noob xD I went into creative mode and got a silverfish spawn egg and went into survival. Spawned one in the middle of a lake, thinking I could scuba dive with the silver fish. Worst mistake ever xD!
