1. Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008! (PS Win2k8 was released before Windows 7 (2009), but Win2k8 R2 was released in 2k9
2. Windows 9x
3. Windows NT
4. Windows 3.1
5. MS-DOS (PS: Don't you remember "COMMAND.COM"? And it is a website domain with it's name, and that website sells/advertises some adhesive product.)
* I also have many favourite versions, the only ones I did not like was Windows ME and WIndows Vista (due to stability, and such issues).
PS: WIndows Vista also apparantly had a flaw in one of it's mem. protections, if you don't know
* I also liked Windows Server 2003, but it's unsupported since July 14, 2015

Windows NT
Windows NT was the only way forward! Win NT was so stable, and had support for multiple processors, wich is good for those who want to run a dual Slot 1 Pentium II setup back in 1996.
I see that windows NT wasnt on the list, so i voted on "Windows 2000" basicly cuz it have the same features as NT, Windows 2000 was actually called windows NT 5 in its alpha stages.
One bad thing about NT was directX support, so for games who did wanna play with DX6+ had to go with WIN 98, wich wasnt a PC neards dream cuz it only supported one processor. And now today is it just crap cuz wehn you have over 512Mb RAM will the computer become unstable.
Windows NT and 2000 aint crap today, mutch software support 2000. And in the fact can a power PC from 1999-2000 run minecraft well. Take the SGI 320 from 1998 for example, its still good wehn it comes to OpenGL applications.

Win8 used to be my favourite, but now Win10 is.

I've used Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1, and using Windows 10. I'll use Windows 7 if I really have to. Windows 8 or 8.1 is great and same for Windows 10.
Honestly, I don't think the Start Screen thing was bad. I knew how to use Windows 8 when I first experienced Windows 8 on a laptop I got. Didn't need to learn anything because I got it right out of the box. The first Microsoft Windows I ever tried was Windows XP, then I experienced Vista, then 7, then 8, and now 10. Funny enough, I tried all those OS's in the order they were released.

Windows 10, its so sharp and clean, I love it!

Windows 10, just got it
Windows 7 was amazing too when I had it, but as we know the Directx 12 in Windows 10 is epic, and the taskbar returns! it is cool.

Lol why is win8 even on the list? That's the whole reason win10 was free.
1
That's not even true? Windows 10 is free because Microsoft wanted everyone to upgrade to 10, so they could cut back on update spending. Now they can drop update support for 7 and not get a backlash because "we offered 10 for free". It's a way to save spending in the long run, not to mention it's just easier for the gaming side if everyone is on 10. Maybe DX12 only work on 10, then they don't have to worry about getting it to work with 7/8.
OP, my favorite was 8.1, I love it. It's just such a great OS. It's fast, it's pretty, and it's different, and I like it.

Though I do enjoy Windows 8 now a lot more than I used to, I would say that my favorite is probably Windows 7. Easier interface and not too complex that you have to learn everything new

I'd have to say Windows 7. Fast, sleek, and had a start menu/explorer I was more familiar with. Mind you I have Windows 8 with a start menu mod I downloaded. I have not tried Windows 10 however. Supposedly it's really good because my friends love it.

Windows 10 is like the best parts of 7 and 8 combined.

Windows 8
