Mojang will be able to create minecraft ps3 when microsofts license ends.

It's for money.
Lets face it, every little kid has an Xbox.
Not all of them know how to work, or even have a pc.
Microsoft obviously saw it as a golden opportunity to make more money.
Not only for Microsoft, Mojang too.
If Sony would've made a deal (if they were even interested) with Mojang before Microsoft. There might've been a Minecraft: PS3 Edition.

Mojang had a very hard time switching Minecraft over to the Console. Besides the memory on the CPU is ALOT bigger than a Ps3 or 360. Ps3's memories are normally small, Mojang only had a few memory slots for the Xbox Edition. Which is the main reason the worlds aren't endless on the Pocket/Xbox edition.

In other words. If the Ps3 finds a way to get bigger memory, and for Mojang to not be lazy, and "Recode" minecraft again for them to put it on the Ps3. It won't be anytime soon.

Minecraft: PS3 Editon is not going to happen.

Microsoft pretty much liscensed Mojang so they can only make games for Microsoft's products.

PS3 Edition would've happened if Sony liscensed Mojang, which they didn't.



EDIT: According to BebopVox, Dinnerbone said that Minecraft could be available on other platforms like PS Vita soon. However, Microsoft's "Minecraft liscense" has to end first before being ported to PS3, Wii U, 3DS, Vita, etc.

Idiots saying PSN is vulnerable: Everything can get hacked, even Microsoft, Apple, Sony, Samsung, Bank sites, Goverment sites, PMC, etc. They were unlucky enough to get hacked. Either way I believe they only got hashed and salted passwords, so it doesn't matter that they even got them Basically they stole a safe containing everyone's information that will take hundreds of years to break into.

The only reason Mojang went exclusive to Xbox is because Microsoft payed them a big sum of money to stay exclusive to Xbox. It's not because they don't want to or anything like that, it's because they can't. You guys aren't missing out on much anyway, controls are so awkward... Why be so restricted on a Console when you could just hook up an Xbox/PS3 controller to your PC and then your PC to your TV and still have all of yours Mods, Texture Packs, Servers, Etc.

You know what, it was probably in their agreement terms to NOT sell Sony the rights to minecraft... Dang Microsoft.

I've had both Xbox and Ps3 for 3 years each. Well, my Xbox didn't make it that far before it overheated and crashed, but, they are both great systems. I don't have to worry about overheating on my Ps3, if I need to download something, I let it run all night.

I do agree that Mojang should have also given the rights to minecraft over to sony AND microsoft, so that people wouldn't fight about it not being on Xbox. Facts is facts, more people have Xbox than Ps3. Which is a better money producer?

mmmmk you all need to look at the background Xbox has java and so does ps3 but the only thing you guys should pay attention to in this matter is the fact that both pc and Xbox were made by Microsoft.

I believe PSN will be implementing a premium multiplayer similar to XBOX Live, but if they're going to do that, they're going to have to step up their game and make their multiplayer more secure.

That's not entirely true. When Mojang's deal with Microsoft terminates, why wouldn't they make it for ps3? But what 11volt11 said is probably the best, just upgrade computer. I know, I have a really slow computer (I'm not joking, I run MC on short at around 10 fps) and I'm going to get a new one. Plus, you can do texturepacks and mods on computer, and the Xbox version is old, while the computer versions are coming out at a good pace.

I hope you People know that you pay for security on Xbox. PSN has been hacked many times before, Has Xbox been hacked? Yes they have. ONCE in 2006, a few days after it came out. But Never since, There both good consoles so stop *****ing about it. They both have there Pros and cons:

Xbox:
-Pros-
Security Online
Huge Selection of Games
Controllers made for Hardcore gameplay... etc...
-Cons-
-You have to pay
-They Break Eventually (Everything Does)
-They over heat

PS3:
-Pros-
-Free Online play
-Large selection of Games as well
-Blueray ...Etc...

-Unsecure Online Community
-Open to Hacking
