Because I know Windows 95 support ended... Quite some time ago, I know that the one place I could find help for this was here. Or maybe not. In fact, I could be breaking some rules...
Anyway, after I boot Windows 95 on iDOS 2 for iOS, I get an error after I boot almost any application. For example, after booting Paint, Explorer (not the internet kind) stated it had an error, but, shortly after, the entire system crashed an gave me a blue screen stating the following:
"A fatal exception 0E has occured at 0137:BFF78010..."
When I searched for this on Google, I came up with nothing helpful. Another example is that Internet Explorer gave an error pop-up too, but no blue screen. Can anyone help?
By the way, my specs are the following:
iPod 5G
Latest version of iDOS 2
Default iDOS 2 configuration
And, uh, I would post a download to my iDOS 2 documents, but I don't think that's allowed...
Anyway, some help would be appriciated!

Santi9809CaptainMuricaSanti9809Wow. Someone who doesn't know what a floppy is.
Darn I feel old.
...The floppies are in those two boxes. I didn't feel like taking them down off the top shelf, unboxing them, and taking a picture. There's a lot of them and I'm too tired to deal with them.
I didn't mean to say that you didn't know what floppies are, I kinda understood that they were in the boxes. I was talking about Oh Pee.DD9448I know what a floppy is. In fact, I have a few. The problem is, they're so old, none of the computers I own have a floppy disk drive, and I'm not planning on buying one.
And these posts about floppies aren't very helpful.
Oh, sorry. I thought you said you didn't know what floppies were. My bad.
BzrkPlayingMinecraftI was born in the early 2000's and I grew up with the slow change from Floppy to CD (as in the change to CD Drives in most homes, not the creation of the CD.).
It's sad to think that new born children probably never see a Floppy Disk...
These stories and things are nice and all, but it's getting a bit off-topic. Maybe we should just give up? It seems that no one knows how to fix this.

I can't come up with another witty bump post.

I think I figured out part of the problem: when I try to load something that has to run in the internet, I get to some sort of network setup, and it tells me to insert the Windows 95 CD-ROM to continue. If I knew how to insert a virtual CD-ROM as an iso or something in to the virtual drive A:\ in iDOS, I would do it. Sadly, I have no idea how to do that. But I did figure out how to get files from my computer into the system.

CaptainMuricaon floppies.
Fuh... Floppies?
Anyway, if I just so happened to get ahold of the KERNEL32.DLL file, where would I place it in the system?
EDIT: Nevermind, it would go in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.

If you just want to mess with Windows 95 as a learning experience, I have it as well as Internet Explorer 1.0 on floppies. You'll get the full Windows 95 experience.

I know this is kinda irrelevant, but why do you want to use windows 95 in the first place?
1
It's a learning experience! What I'm learning about, I'm not sure.
It might help to figure out how to run an old Windows version for future reference. It could also be helpful to know a bit about how a DOS OS could run on an iOS application.

Bump. Why does Microsoft not make obsolete Windows versions compatible with operating systems made by competing companies? It would be so much easier...
In fact, why can't there just be one OS? For everything?

VaiMaybe you can just *not*. Windows 10 ftw
Yes, because it is so easy to run Windows NT on iOS.
Code_7DD9448Pump. Does anyone know how to an get iDOS 2 to read an iso file as a CD-ROM inside the emulation of Windows 95?
this might be really irrelevant but..
you could try using VMware Player to run win 95. I have yet to have any problems using it to read Iso Files inside any OS.
Sadly, iOS does not fall under the category of "any OS" in this situation.
JohnanaterSo you're running an os emulation on an iPod?
iPod Touch.

Your kernel dll is broke. The kernel is a very important system part and so are dlls, so you're pretty screwed, sorry :/
1
OH NO, I'M SCREWED! DOES ANYONE HAVE A SCREWDRIVER!?
Yes, I know what it means. And can't I just get a new KERNEL32.DLL? Or a new Windows 95 boot img?

0137:BFF78010 sounds like a location in memory.

Ok, my last answer was jokey but still relevant.
0E is the error, research says it's likely driver related. 0137:BFF78010 is the location, which I don't really understand. Have you installed new drivers or software?

I was following your first link (the second was not relevant) and I suddenly realized... How in the world am I supposed to get the advapi32.dll file into Windows 95?
Also, I can't rename advapi32.dll inside of Windows. Don't know how I'm gonna get around that.

Uh, can you reinstall it...?

This is not a bump. Actually, yes, it is. Does anyone even have any knowledge of Windows 95 anymore?
