I tried to post my mod ,but it won't accept .jar files what do I do I want it in 1.8 too.

If you make it a zip then there are NO problems. If it is a .rar then you are doing it wrong. If it still has issues then just upload it to mediafire or something and give the link instead.

Make a .rar file and then drag the .jar file (raw mod) into the .rar file!

Just rename the file .zip instead of .jar.
It really is stupid that they don't allow jars since that's what all mods build as...

Because depending on the setup, jars might auto-execute when you attempt to download it, which we don't want. It'd be too easy for a programmer to exploit that for malicious purposes.

Putting it in a zip is a better choice.
