Working on a new RPG
I decided to get some practice programming top down, 2D combat. Over the course of about a day it evolved into this weird, semi-playable game thingy where you play as a human and/or goblin and kill everything you see. It's pretty much barebones right now, so I'm looking for some feedback into what the game should evolve into over time, as I continue work.
I'll update this thread with the new versions as I develop the game more. This is about a day's worth of work so, as I said, it's missing a lot.
Made with Game Maker: Studio, and sprites made in Spriter.
Any feedback at all is much appreciated.

That's... interesting, to say the least. I'm using windows 10 Tech Preview which runs essentially the same as 8.1 so that shouldn't affect it.
I'll look at the rendering code to see if I messed something up.
Does the sound work alright?

Well i hate being a Spirit. GG
dis game needs more classes and render distance more far , Cuz i cant see anything well.

New mechanic in version 0.0.0.0.0.1b: removed humans. Removed goblins. Changed title to "Spirit Wars".
In all seriousness: Spirits are kind of a temporary cop out so I don't have to make a real death mechanic yet, and more for testing the ability to control any NPC, which is something I've never been good at programming before. Dunno what I should do about spirits and/or death though.
Eventually you'll be able to zoom in and out with the scroll wheel, and the camera will be centered between you and the mouse instead of on the current played character. That way you see farther in the direction your character is looking.
