From personal experience getting hit there is about the same as getting hit in the stomach, and I would personally rather punch someone in the stomach for self defense since its easier to hit people there. If I were a killer, trying to kill someone and they tried to hit me between the legs, first off, it wouldn't be very easy as it can be hard to hit someone dead-on there. Second off, if I do get hit there, I'm not gonna fall to the floor and cry, I'm gonna get up and stab that knife into your neck. The pain really isn't gonna kill you, as most people interpret it.

I kinda doubt he's a troll. In fact that's what quite a few men say on posts like these....just the comments are usually a little more PG13 than what Aussie said. I've even seen some girls say basically the same thing if they were a guy. In all seriousness it's not that strange to run across someone who would actually live up to comments like that if the situation ever occurred.
