ww1 had over 15 million casualties,if you think about it that's a lot of people, World War II had over 50 million casualties, that took a large chunk out of the population on earth at the time,their weapons and military equipment are like firecrackers compared to what we have now ,the violence back then is like the Teletubbies compared to what we have now, if there is going to be a world war 3, we are close to the end

The issue is, if they invade the baltics, even without a military (votes like in crimea)
there is gonna be a quite powerful response.
This is what i think would happen, Finland and Sweden unifies to one country and joins NATO, and a possible war between NATO and Russia. The thing is, in todays world, there is no chance you can be another Hitler. Whatever you do, the rest of the world is stronger, and the people don't want war.
Putin would defenitely not want Finland and Sweden to join NATO, or even unify. (Finland has a larger border towards Russia than any other European country), and Finland and Sweden joining NATO would guarantee Russia loosing their power in the Baltic Sea.
On top of that Finland and Sweden does have very good modern technology armies, well equipped, and Finland has a universal military service granting them a large manpower reserve.
If WW3 happens, it's probably not happening yet, and i myself doubt that Russia will start it.

Modern war is a terrible thing. It's fought by people in no uniform, and won by roadside bombs. Anyone who thinks a war would be a good thing, needs to seriously look into the way wars are fought now. You can't fight an enemy and win if you have no idea who they are. This is all from personal experience, I grew up on military bases.

War is already happening. Not a world war, but many wars are ongoing right now. The war in Ucraine, the war in Israel and in the Gaza strip. All those terrible wars, that are in fact happening. Hundreds of civilians die every day.
But I will be quiet now. I honestly don't know much about current conflicts, other than that they are horrible.

War will always exist. It is just different now. nations don't go against nations like in WWII. If you were really a soldier (which your are obviously not or you're some low grunt) you would know that war can never be avoided.

Well we all know that WW3 will come one day, there is no way that it's not coming.
It could even be in a 100 years, maybe even in a few years.
There is 1 thing that is certain though, NO country will benefit from WW3, maybe some neutral countries will, but no countries on either side will...
WW3 would be such a massive scale that it would just be a mass slaughter of civilizans and soldiers, it could even be safer to be a soldier than a civilian.
The Ukraine crisis could spark WW3 if all nations in NATO support the act of defending Ukraine. WW3 could also spark if Russia tries to take back some of it's former land of Europe, (Examples The baltics, Finland, Ukraine and Belarus).
Maybe they can invade Ukraine without NATO doing anything, however if they AFTER that attack some country like Finland (I know, If Putin does this he is retarded).
Now the Baltics are a part of NATO, i don't know if Russia will stop because of that though.

I am honestly probably not going to respond to any responses to mine, this will possibly become a flame war on different topics.
1) Ukraine/Russia:
Russia is invading Ukraine. We need to send more help over there instead of just sending them freaking socks. Obama won't really do anything about it, so there's nothing we can really do about that.
2) Palestine/Israel:
Israel has always defended itself. Hamas kidnapped and murdered 3 of Israel's boys, and Israel couldn't just sit around and do nothing. The reason why people think Israel is the aggressor is because they're "killing civilians" and "they killed more people". Well, both of them are true, but a) Hamas uses their people as human shields, and sends out civilians to die so they can say Israel is killing civilians and b) the only reason Israel is killing more people is because they intercept Hamas' rockets with the Iron Dome and such.
NOTE: Please research more valid sources before responding to me with "Israel is killing civilians, blah blah blah, so terrible, yada yada yada."
3) Syria/Iraq:
With the countless Christians being killed in those places, really the only thing to do is pray. People that don't believe in God probably won't care, but the terrorists told them to either "Get out, convert to Islam, or die". I don't know very much on this topic so I'm not saying more.
4) About the US:
The US can't really do a whole lot, since Obama doesn't care about Ukraine and Iraq/Syria.

You're goddamn right. But I personally have looked into the U.S. economics and we really are fine atm. We can very easily pull this around. Althought a war might help. The surge of the economy during WW2 was amazing. If that happened again...

We need another war. From a financial standpoint, the thing that the US need the most is a war. That way, they will get worth out of the ridiculous military expenditure. They've been fighting miniature wars like in Afghanistan and Iraq for quite a while, but never has an actual international war occurred on their grounds. The civil war doesn't count.
To be honest, it would actually be better for everyone to side against the US in a new war, and win. Look at Germany. We've lost 2 major wars and suffered a lot over the past hundred years and now look at us. We are basically Europe. Europe relies on us. Look at Japan. They got beaten up badly and are near the front of technological advancement.
From an ethical standpoint, war is awful, but who needs morals or ethics?
I say fight, because that's what humans are good at doing and will continue to do regardless. Might as well make use of that instinctive nature.

Are you stupid? Economically the US DOES NOT need another war. We already have trillions of dollars in debt and our military budget is huge. We have military involvement all around the world and we have the best military in the world. War would only cause us to create more deficit spending. There in no such thing as a "mini-war" We declared war against the country on Iraq in the Persian Gulf Wars. Then we promptly invaded after Saddam Hussein refused to leave Kuwait. Our involvement in Afghanistan is like that of Vietnam or Korea. An undeclared war to battle a group, not a nation. This cost us billions of dollars and thousands of American lives. Also, you seem to think that if you get the shit beaten out of you in war you become powerful. Not true. After WWI and the great depression Germany collapsed financially. The government then tried to save the country but over inflating the currency. This led to the rise of nazism and marxism (communism), which led Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist Party to gain control of Germany when Hitler became Chancellor. Hitler then decided to annex Austria and Czechoslovakia and invade Poland because he wanted more room for the German people. After war was declared against Britain, France, Russia, and the United States, Hitler made many bad decisions that put Germany right back where they were after WWI. Germany is powerful today because of the US aid they received after WWII as part of the Marshall Plan and after the aid from NATO during the age of the Soviet Union. Germany grew over time and became strong. The story is ultimately the same with Japan after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
