Minecraft: Roobus

I design skins more than I play minecraft.  I enjoy shading skins and making them look less boxlike. Going for 3D effects with the "hat" layer is one of the best parts. I seem to do a lot of animals - probably because it is tricky to map them onto a human figure. I usually post a little description that explains what I was thinking when I designed the skin.
 
I've stopped taking requests for personal skins, but suggestions for possible skins are fine.  I only make skins if I find the subject interesting and then share the skin with the PMC community.  I've written a number of tutuorials on skinning which I hope members will find useful.

I would like to thank everyone who supported my Monster in the Closet contest submission.  It was a real rush for a mostly unknown skinner to see one of his skins hit the pop reel within minutes of posting, make it into the top 100, end up in 1st place, get dozens of new subs, appear on Minecraft Monday, and become one of the top 50 most viewed skins on PMC (as of October 2012).  

I've decided not to enter future monthly skinning contests because I've had my "fifteen minutes of fame" and want to be sure others have the same opportunity.  I'll keep making unusual skins and I look forward to seeing your contest entries.  Thanks again and good luck!
