     Insta-wire was created for several reasons. Many challenging problems ncome up when you're faced with the 16 block distance limit of redstone. nYou can repeat the signal, but every time you do it introduces a delay. nI've set out to change all of that in order to make timing easier and nredstone ALUs and CPUs incredibly faster.

Insta-wire comes with five new blocks that interact with redstone. The nrepeater simply repeats the signal without adding any delay. The OR nblock accepts input from any of the four sides, and outputs to all four nsides. The AND block needs both inputs to be lit up to transmit the nsignal. The inverter acts like a torch on a block, but it will invert the signal without any delay. The memory block accepts input from two nsides, if you input a signal on the + side it will stay lit. If you ninput a signal to the - side it will deactivate.

You should show me the stuff you create with this, I'm really interestedn to see how it turns out. Also feel free to suggest any new useful ninstant redstone block types.

yay updated was trying redpower for a cpu but then realized it had lag :/ so i guess im switching back to this :D

EDIT: somehow every time i post on here i come through as a ADHD 12 year old. I'm not sure why i guess this mod just makes me giddy...anyway rest assured im not 12 and only a little ADHD. I love the mod and keep trying to make computers with it and then something always comes up to stop me (reformat cus a new ssd arrived or downloading new update of mc among other things) but rest assured i will build a computer with this if its the last thing i do

I created these mods from scratch after I saw a video that exploited pistons to make instant repeaters. Seeing an interesting idea, I figured out how to make instant gates of my own.
How is that not originally by me?
Even if there is another mod with a similar function, that doesn't matter. I haven't played around with other mods, I simply develop things that I like and release them to the public.

Not if you know basic RS logic gates. His repeater just extends the signal, no 1-tick delay. His OR block works like a usual OR gate, but smaller. Same with the and. And the "memory block" is essentially the RS-NOR latch in a block. These are all helpful to people who wish to build for YouTube or a more friendly group of people who will install a mod for them.

quite amazing i was using it in my instant computer (all credit to you my friend :D) when all of a sudden 1.2.3!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAA MUST DOWNLOAD!!!!!! depression for no longer being able to work on computer I NEEDZ 1.2.3 :D LOVE IT BTW diamonds take them all eat them throw them idc TAKE THEM

well so far i have an instant 8 bit mux instant adder/subtractor and "instant" seven segment (had to use 1 set of torches in it cus i was to lazy to change the design but basically instant) if the mod is updated i would be glad to show you but currently i dont have my backup 1.1 file (cant find it) so i cant downgrade and show you :( but ya once its to 1.2.3 ill be happy to ill make a page on it and leave a link

I found a glitch where all the Insta-Wire blocks and Redstone is duplicated in Too Many Items. When you break the Insta-Wire mod blocks, they become invisible. When you break Redstone, it becomes invisible and is labeled "Redstone Dust".

i love this mod. I prefer instant response far more than a 1-tick delay. one thing i would love to see though, is a FULLY programmable redstone gate. i know this has already been worked on, but if you could choose the type of gate (eg: and/or/xor etc), choose which sides are the input/output of said gate, and on top of that, decide how much delay to use, (instant to, say, 4 ticks), that would be by far the best redstone mod out there. one block to rule them all :P

I can say this mod works great with Optifine where as MightyPorks causes minecraft to freeze randomly with Optifine.

I recommend that Mightypork and djoslin team up and work on this mod together. As Mightypork has more types like xor, ect...

Hi, I would just like to note that my Logic Gates mod was released earlier, and that it is suspiciously similar to this one.

Also, the instant repeater was in my mod when it was released, and nall gates worked without the delay, but removed it due to these infiniten neighbour-change loops with inverters et c.

I don't want to blame you from copying, but it is a strange coincidence.
I can't believe that modder like you could copy others' mods.


Btw., Logic Gates mod has many more logic gates, not just these few ones.

Yeah, I didn't copy you. I just haven't been paying attention to all the mods that have been released lately.

It's really an obvious concept to have compact gates as a block, I just didn't think instant had been done before.

Oh and I've solved the infinite loop problem, look into how redstone torches burn out and hook it up similarly to your blocks. ;)

Sorry about the similarities. It happens to me all the time, several people have come out with mods like the ones I've created. I mean, I even had trapdoors in minecraft before they were official.

ok, the instant wire is yours, but i have discovered that the gates' delay is nothing bad, because real-life logic gates have delay too, and many circuits might not work at all if the gates were instant. take the one-shot circuit - without delay, it won't work.



this circuit is really very useful, and with your insta-gates it is useless.

In my opinion, it could be best if your mod contained only the instant repeater and all the other gates were in my mod, so people could pick up the best of both. They can do so now, too, but with the cost of having duplicate inverters and some gate types (and also some texture slots unnecessarily occupied by almost the same textures) .

Fyi, I am working on RS and D flip-flops now, so your "memory" circuit will have equivalent in my mod, too. I promise i will make a link to your insta-wire if you decide to accept this "agreement".

Take this just like a suggestion, but i think i have a point with the gates' delay. The delay is something we can live with, and the main problem is the repeaters' delay, anyway. And your mod is called insta-wire, isn't it? So it should stick to the repeaters.

First of all, the above circuit you depicted could easily be done with one of his inverters, an and gate, and a single redstone repeater set with delay of 3. It would have the exact same effect (actually, the rapid pulse would be send one tick earlier due to the instant and gate). So please, if you are going to critique a mod, consider what it is adding to the game rather than what it can do by itself.

It seems you are complaining about both the similarities (logic gates in a single block) AND the differences (no delay) of his mods. On top of that, you tell him to take out features in his mod? It is obvious that you are selfishly trying to eliminate his mod.

On another note, if his mod is called Insta-Wire, should it not focus on giving as many options for making instant circuitry? Not to mention you have contradicted yourself: "the instant repeater was in my mod when it was released." "So [Insta-Wire] should stick to the repeaters." If he did stick to the repeaters, not only would that be a waste of his modding talent, but it would just be one more thing for you to complain about later.


Your selfish attitude has lost my interest in your mods, try being more accepting that the world doesn't revolve around you.
