The beta version has been released, there are bugs, and weird glitches. This mod is under heavy development. Everything can be subject to change, including the recipe for any blocks. I am not liable for any damages to your Minecraft saves or computer. If you would like to do a "mod spotlight" please ask for permission, if you do not, I will ask that you take down your video, if you don't take it down I will have it taken down.
Welcome to the "Allocation Mod," tired of boring Minecraft manual labor? I have implemented a few blocks called "Allocators" that you allocate time to finding resources, and based on the rareness of the item, and how much time you allocate to it, you may just find that item! To balance it, it uses items in your inventory. You can choose up to 8 hours of allocation at a time, and the time in your world will progress as long as the time you allocated. If you don't have the right tools in your inventory to acquire the items you've requested, you will not be able to allocate any time to that item.
Installation:
Delete the meta-inf folder, install ModLoader into your minecraft.jar, then drag and drop everything from AllocationMod.zip into the jar and start up Minecraft.
Ore Allocator:
The Ore Allocator can be allocated to find you any type of ores. In order for this allocator to work you must have a pickaxe in your inventory. If the pickaxe isn't a high enough level, it will not work (I'll add error displaying next update, for now just hit escape if you forget to put a pickaxe). If you have multiple pickaxes the allocator will choose the one in the smallest slot number (closest to the top left).
Here is the crafting recipe and GUI for the first allocator I've added, the "Ore Allocator":
