The next update will be a huge update that adds loads of other colored blocks. So I'll probably stick fences in there too.

may I ask how you got dyes to work for recipes. I am trying to make a decoration mod and can't get the dyes to work.

Dyes use damage values instead of seperate IDs, so you need to specify the damage value in the crafting recipe. This is my code for blue wooden planks:

ModLoader.addRecipe(new ItemStack(woodBlue, 32), new Object [] {
"###", "#X#", "###", Character.valueOf('X'), new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 4), Character.valueOf('#'), Block.wood
});

Notice the 4 in the Item.dyePowder reference. To get the color you want, just change that to the damage value of that color. So green would be "new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 2)" , light gray would be "new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 7)", and magenta would be "new ItemStack(Item.dyePowder, 1, 13)". For a full list of dye damage values, see this page.

Thank you so much. I knew the damae values but didn't know how to use them. If I ever do get the decoration mod up you will be in the credis for helping me with that.

Try putting it in the mods folder anyway, if that doesn't work, try starting with a fresh minecraft.jar.

I was really excited to see this, but I am having issues with it. I installed modloader and deleted the meta-inf file. (Watched like five tutorials, so I know I did this right and also dled another mod and used the installer on it and that mod works fine.) Then I dl the mod and move it from my firefox dls to the desktop then I draged and dropped it into the mods folder in the .minecraft file. This is exactly what I have done, but the mod still isnt working. Can anyone tell me what I possibly did to derp this up? I really like the look of this mod and want to use it.

Did it crash, or is it just not doing anything? If it's crashing, then I'll need your error report.
