This is a mod idea that's been buzzing around in my head for a while, it's called DeathCraft and at the moment it only adds a 3 new blocks: 'Death Block' and 'Diamond Plated Death Block', both currently serve no use, but will in future updates, and 'Death Ore',(found layers 40 and below) which when mined gives you 1 - 2 'Death Powder', when put in a furnace the 'Death Powder' smelts into a 'Death Ingot', the 'Death Ingot' can be crafted into a 'Death Shard' which can then be crafted into a 'Death Crystal'. 'Death Crystals' can be crafted into 2 types of sword, 'Death Sword' and 'Diamond Plated Death Sword'. A full list of features and upcoming features is down below. Crafting recipes are in the piccys above =)
If you have any suggestions for this mod please tell me as your support really helps.

Hey Rowsell, you should have an item that will stop you from dying(one time usage), or kills all mobs that are in a randomly set radius. Just saying, but that would be awesome. Make it reasonably hard to create, but not an end-game item, because if it were end-game, you would have a ton of stuff that would make you probably indestructable anyway, which would make it pointless and useless. Call it the Death Descriminator or something like that. I understand this is hard, i made the lego mod IT TOOK FREAKING FOREVER but i think this is possible!! Good Job in advance if you create this!

Would you by any chance know how to get it downloaded on a macintosh? Do you have any instructions for that?

I'm afraid I don't know myself, but if you search on youtube something like how to install too many items on a Mac, the installation will be exactly the same as that but with the files in my mods folder instead.
