This filter drapes a creation over the landscape, deforming it with the variation in height.

It is perfect for walls and fortifications, or castle sections designed in flatland then brought over onto a generated map.

Version 3 update:

"Drop the bass" causes the bottom block to render down to the surface.

"Embed depth" lets you push your creation into the surface - use this to create roads.
CreditDrop the bass suggested by /u/Chiv. Embed Depth suggested by /u/Random832.

Try setting the 'embed depth' to 1.

Yes. MCEDIT filters need to be used. Please use them. Post pictures or a link or something here.

With v3 (and the "Embed depth"), does this mean that it's possible to make realistic-looking rivers easily by using this filter with water? If so, this is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. If not, is it possible you could modify this (or create a new filter) to enable creation of rivers?

Embed-depth pushes the blocks into the surface of the land. So, depending on what you mean by 'realistic', it might do the trick. Have a play with it and report your results.
