This is just a small mod i made that adds in emerald tools and armor, obsidian tools and armor, and the ability to smelt obsidian into ingot. Emeralds strength fits in between iron and diamond, obsidian is stronger than diamond. All of the crafting recipes are the same as regular tools and armor. To acquire an obsidian ingot all you have to do is smelt an obsidian block.

Please update to 1.5.1. I think that this mod would go great with my modpack, mainly because emeralds and obsidian are slightly useless/not as useful (for emeralds and obsidian, respectively) as I'd like them to be. Thanks, and here's the link to my WIP modpack!

Do you think you could describe it a little? As in explain how to get obsidian ingot?And maybe add installation instructions?
Just suggestions, no hurry, I figured out how to install it, but the ingot... Smelt obsidian, or craft it?

Yes, but they always add their "touch" to it, like blaze rod handle and this is pretty basic only prole is that he has it in the same mod but who dosen't want emerald and obsidian armor and tools! ;O

Even this mod has been made before, why don't modders make DIFFERENT mods for once?!?! Like a... (i dunno), but yeah, something different and cool will get them more XP, if that's what they want, and it's not just about XP, it's about making a mod that people or yourself will just enjoy, this mod's been made before, why make it again?
But still, good work making the mod, mod creator, you obviously put effort into this.

i never got a black screen, if you put the mods zip in the mods folder, don't do that, unzip it and drag the files into minecraft.jar :)

well >.> i used winwar and followed the instructions and put all of the files inside the modloader folder in minecraft.jar BUT when i start minecraft IT CRASHED so i just used magic-launcher :l
