How to install:
Put the zip-file into the mods-folder (gets generated by modloader/forge).

If you want to create your own Familiar, take a look: http://www.minecraft.../#entry14723174

The Familiar mod that includes a little familiar for the player, so it's not always so lonely in SSP.

A Familiar is a kind of protector / companion that always follows the player.
They are not tameable like dogs and do not occur in the wild. These can be equipped like items / armor, Dungeon Defenders has inspired me.

The creatures do not only fly someone behind they also have a passive/active skill (attack by mobs, heal the player etc).

Some are not available from the beginning, you need to unlock them first (buy with XP or unlock achievements).

This mod is an API too (tut comes soon), so anyone might make a complete MLP Familiar Pack or Pokemon or something ^^

To equip them you have to use the FamGuide, you'll find there further info and how to unlock them.

I have a few suggestions that I think would be a nice addition to the mod,Add more options for familiars like lets say dragons or snakes or whatever and whenever you want they can enlarge. Also as you go up in expereience so do they and maybe they can achieve new powers or abilities.Please read and tell m what you think. These are just suggestions

Arrgh, can you please help me? When I download the API it goes to a website with nothing to do with it called toasted balls :/
Can you plese plese please change the download link from uploaded.net because it does not let you dpwnload anything and tells you to buy premium, which no one is gonna do.

P.S. Anything will work-MediaFire, Dropbox etc.
P.P.S. I mean the api.
Mod keeps crashing when I tried to equip a familiar! I really wanted to use this for my private server so please let me know if there is anything that could be conflicting with it? my main mods are:

ok, i have found it's incompatible with the latest version of Somnia i would just revert to an earlier version but the ones before it have a bug where no hostile mobs spawn at night. both these mods are equaly awsome so i would love to be able to use both!

When I teleport feature of Zans minimap (Voxelmap) Rana always just deactivates... It says she's still active but her perks wont work until I deactivate her and put her back on... Seeing as i teleport a lot back and forth to waypoints do u have any advice? Cheers ;)

Cool mod, and fun to play with. Got 5 kids with computers, and we all downloaded it. The only thing I wish were different is its compatibility with bibliocraft. I'd love to be able to place the Famguide inside one of bibliocraft's bookshelves like other books can. In my worlds, books aren't found in chests, but rather in bookshelves.

it does not work with pixelmon. Every time i try to craft it, it gives me a White apricorn.
If you cook the white apricorn it turns into a famguide.

Adf.ly I don't mind, but have you considered another file host? It's enough to turn potential players away, especially younger ones. MediaFire is easy to deal with. You could reaching more players. ^^ Blazebug and I will have some more feedback once we've tried the mod. Looks good!

I have an idea for a familiar! It is Donkey Kong. His powers are you can climb ladders and vines faster, and an unarmed hit does more damage than it usually does!!!

Hey pitman-87 I was hoping I could persuade you to change from uploaded.net as it only allows 1 download an hour so im forced to wait at least an hour for your mod... :/

It crashes for me. The game loads but when I start playing a world it goes to loading world then crashes. I have other mods installed here is the list might someone tell me what which mod could cause the problem?

Optifine is conflicting with newer releases of Forge.
Workaround:
Create a new world - go back to main menu - load your old world

anyways nice mod, it seems optifine makes problem with all your mods :/

it says theres a new update to the default fampack, can i have a link to the download? (and can you tell me what is added?)

hey, just redownload from here, the link goes to the new file.
I have fixed a crash, when you try to use only the default mobpack without the extended fampack :)
