Conversely, breaking the top.. you get the picture.

Aim at the top half of a block...

right-click, and bam!

This is a mod which makes half-slabs a ton easier to build with! No more will you have to deal with the annoying reality of upside-down slabs, the missing right-click functionality, and the breakage of both blocks giving you headaches!

With this small, simple and effective plugin, you can expect the following fixes:

Break only the side you want to break!

Tired of the whole doubleslab exploding in front of you? Chip off the side you want to chip!

Place upside-down slabs by aiming!

Annoyed by having to aim at the bottom of a block to place an upsidedown slab? No more! Simply aim at the top half of the side of another block and right-click!

Missing right-click functionality!

Placed an upsidedown slab by accident and want to make a double-slab? Simply right-click beside or underneath a half-slab to place a block underneath it and complete it!

Attach upside-down-slabs!

Upside-down slabs can now be chained together, allowing you to quickly build floors and other devices!

Its awesome how mojang implemented this into vanilla minecraft, but its a shame they haven't kept the "Choose which half to break" functionality on the double half slabs.

Mojang (Dinnerbone in particular) got the idea from me - I sent it to them! They thought it was a brilliant idea and asked for the source code. :) It was implemented in one of the weeklies (12w13 I think).

It might be a simple mod, but it hasn't been done before. It (was) popular because it was a good idea that hasn't been done yet. Everybody had issues with building with slabs, but nobody did anything about it.

I did something about it. I wrote a plugin for Bukkit, made a video about it, and sent the idea to @Dinnerbone on Twitter. He implemented it in vanilla Minecraft a month ago or so. This mod won't be useful when 1.3 is out; I understand that, but this is the -original- plugin which created this behavior. It will remain here for historical purposes.

I respect your opinions, but your points make no sense and have no foundation.

I should also point out that while the idea is simple, the programming behind it isn't. There was quite a lot of 3D math involved in this sort of operation.

There was actually this greatly famous animator and he did a test. He posted an animation that is just a blank screen. However, he still got diamonds/stars/favs/etc.

If I can recommend something...

Try and make it so you can combine halfslabs,ï»¿ so have the bottom slab as wood, top slab as cobblestone?

If that's not possible server-side, then try and make it a client mod. Also, if you could add a functionality to make redstone the height of a half-block, (Client-side again), you could have really compact flooring with redstone circuits underneath... Just another recommendation to make this mod even more awesome.
