The In-Game File Explorer mod allows you to look through, and edit some, of the files on your computer's harddrive, without having to leave the game!

WARNING! The mod is in beta, if you crash, or see something weird in the mod, then please post a comment, with some information, and I'll take a look at it

The mod comes with a fully functional file explorer, and the ability to edit/view these file types:
- .txt/.rtf - Using a simple gui you can view, edit, and save text files.
- .png/.jpeg - You can open images... simple as that!
- .json - Json files can be editied and saved with a simple, easy-to-use, gui.
- .lang - You can view language files. An editor is being worked on.

More to come. Here is a short list of things I'm working on for the next few releases:
- .mp3/.wav support.
- .mp4/.avi support.
- .yml support
- .xml support.
- Possible .cfg support.

If you have any suggestions as to what file types I should try and implement, then post them below!

By default, you open the file explorer by pressing the 'g' key. This can be changed in the options menu.
When you first open the file explorer, you will be asked to agree to some conditions, and choose to allow the mod to view/edit the files on your computer. The mod cannot edit files, unless you say it's ok!
On the left is the list of files in the current directory. You can double click the elements on the list to open them. Elements with a question mark next to their name can't be opened, because their file-type isn't supported.
Below the list you can see the name of the directory you are currently viewing.
When opening a file, the file's content will be shown on the right. If the file can be edited, press the "Edit" button to start editing it.
Whenever a file is saved, a backup will be taken of the file before saving. Pressing the 'f' key will bring up the backup manager. If any backups are present, they will show up on a list on the left side. Pressing "Restore" will restore the file to the sate it was in, before editing/deleting it.
Backups can be turned off in the config panel.

The mod can be configured via the LiteLoader config panel. This can be reached by pressing the LiteLoader button, positioned in the upper right corner of the main menu, selecting the mod on the list, and pressing "Settings...".

The current version of the mod is 0.1.0-BETA, works with Minecraft 1.8.*, and can be downloaded here.
Older versions are available here.
You can also help translate the mod here.
A 1.7.10 version is coming soon!
The mod has not yet been tested on Mac! If you have a Mac, then please tell me if the mod crashes.
The mod requires LiteLoader for 1.8, which can be downloaded here.

Installation for Windows:
1. Download the mod's .litemod file
2. Install LiteLoader, instructions are on the LiteLoader thread
3. Move the .litemod file to "%AppData%/mods"
4. Start the game and choose the profile "LiteLoader".

theres literally no point in this mod other than slowing down your minecraft on slower/older computers..... .-.

other than that your computer needs to load a game, and however many mods you have installed including this one JUST to access your pc's files which you can do WITHOUT minecraft to reduce the strain on your computer, no computer would need this.

This mod does not slow down your computer, until you actually open the GUI. The mod itself does NOTHING before the GUI is opened. And when you close it again, it all goes back to normal.
And I know this mod isn't very useful. I didn't make it to be, I just made it because I like making mods. And while making the mod I learned a lot of neat little tricks on how to make UIs.
In the end, this is just a silly little mod, that does nothing but what's in the title. If you don't want to use it, then don't.

This looks very usefull. I am wondering if we are allowed to use this in our modpack (hexx reloaded) Since your licence asks for us to ask for permission :D Thanks a lot

You have my permission.

All you need to do is provide a link to the MinecraftForum thread, the PlanetMinecraft page or my official website (mrspring.dk) on the page where you download the modpack.
