Potatoes

Info
  • Spawned in forests to get your seed potatoes
  • Plant potato on a farmland
  • Bonemeal works!
  • Use hoe on a potato field to get the loot, or you can destroy the potato field block.
  • Potatoes grow a bit faster than wheat
  • When potato plant is "dried", it is ready for harvesting.
  • Recipes are in the slideshow.
  • The jelly cake gives you 2 hearts each use, and dimly glows at night.
  • All cooked things and a jelly are edible.
Installation
  • Download & install ModLoader
  • Place the potatoes zip into .minecraft/mods
  • Play.
How to eat food?
  • You can eat food only if your food bar is not full
  • To eat food, press and hold right mouse button, until the food is eaten.

I fixed the strange "growth overflow" bug, and changed the cake texture to slime face. You can still get the creeper back, both textures are included, so just rename them as you wish.

Does useing hydrated farmland speed up groth? If not please add it! 
Because wheat on hydrated farmland grows in less than 1 day.

Yes, it does, but it is not very noticeable.

The fastest farming method is bonemealing.

I tried looking around FOREVER but couldnt find any potatoes. I had modloader 1.8.1 installed and the potatoes mod in. do you have any testing seeds where i could spawn by potatoes to see if its working?

They are spawned in rainforests.

You can try to run it in creative mode to see if potatoes are available from the items menu.

And you have to discover new parts of the world.

Can you make the same with Wine, and enhance wheat? i need much more than only bread and cake.
I need much more to cook, i also need something to drink like apple juice and orange juice, and else.

If you want some food, you will enjoy one mod I have made together with Vangoule273.

It is an Alchemy mod, but the point is that there are bushes.

And on bushes, there grow berries, edible berries, and since bushes can be found evrywhere (on grass), they are a good source of food on your travels.

Would you be able to make a 1.9 (pre) for this? I wanna have a ranch and potatoes would be a great crop for it.



Also, if you could add corn with this, that would be epic to make popcorn and potatoe chips since they go good together  :D

I am really unecperienced with modding minecraft (my first try), so don't hurt me if this was asked before.

Today I installed ModLoader, AudioMod and some of the risugami Mods (Recipie Book, Shelf, LightSensor). Everything worked fine as expected. The next thing I wanted to try was the potatoe mod. Unfortunately I got a black screen and a "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: SortedProperties" error in ModLoader.txt.

I fixed it by putting SortedProperties.class from your Scanner5.zip into the Potatoes.zip Mod and it seems to work (recipies are correctly in the recipies book) but I am not totally sure if this was the correct thing to do.

Anyway I wanted to let you know this, so you can fix it yourself.
