Hello there! This is a mod by the GGE team which is comprised of myself, coalheartly, and loligator704
Check out our minecraftforums thread for a deeper details and better demonstrationshttp://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/898514-100retainer-chest/
This mod very simply makes it so that chests retain their items when destroyed, so you can place it and it will still have the items it had when placed!
WARNING:
Back up your worlds before you try this and before you uninstall it.
There shouldn't be any problems but I will not be held responsible if your worlds are corrupted or lose items.
So BACK UP YOUR SAVES!
To install:
-Install risugami's modloader
-Place retainerchest.zip into %appdata%/.minecraft/mods

Anyone else having this problem or is it just me?
It's friggin' awesome!
Placing the Retainer Chest zip file in the Minecraft/Mods folder doesn't work but when I unzip it and place the class files in the Minecraft jar file it does work.
Am I the only one having this problem?
Great mod by the way!
because they both look like chests
this, however, does nothing even remotely similar...
that one places a chest with your items when you die, while this allows all chests to retain your items for pickup/placement so that you can carry around a chest full of stuff on you
