The Doctor Who Client Mod features the worlds first full functioning T.A.R.D.I.S in Minecraft complete with being able to see the interior from the outside, Translocation System (travel on the same planet quickly), as well as the ability to travel to many planets and time eras through the Time Vortex!

Imagine a universe in which you are the 2100 year old Time Lord known as, The Doctor. Imagine You had the ability to travel to new planets, Now imagine that you weren't imagining this. You are The Doctor, you have a Type 40 T.A.R.D.I.S that you call Sexy, and you are able to travel to and explore an untold number of worlds, taking on quests to save those worlds in this exciting sandbox game with story elements built into Minecraft!

What does Sandbox/Story Gameplay Hybrid Mean?

The Doctor Who Client Mod gameplay is unlike anything you may have played in Minecraft in the past. The DWCM has what we have called a sandbox-story hybrid gameplay hybrid. What this means is that while the DWCM has a storyline incorporated with the gameplay it is in the background. It exists but you do not have to always participate in it, the gameplay you are used to with vanilla minecraft still exists, you can still build, mine and free roam. The story just adds another level to the game that adds an OPTIONAL way to enhance your gameplay. With the story comes actual cutscenes rendered in blender and maya as well as a narrative. Take a listen to what the cutscene animation that plays when creating a new game-save (map) will be like (or read it if that is your thing.)

This project is is currently in the Closed Alpha Development Stage, no Publicly available version has been released however we hope to be released to the public as soon as possible once a few more crucial systems are completed

The Doctor Who Client Mod is currently under heavy development in its Closed Alpha Development Phase which means that it has not been released for download to the public.

  • The TARDIS - One of the Most prominent features of the DWCM. The TARDIS is the Doctors main mode of transportation around the cosmos and through time. With a enormous" bigger on the inside" Dimensionally Transcendental interior the TARDIS is a great place to find hidden features and easter eggs as well as go on adventures and expeditions like they have never done in the show. The transition from the outside of the TARDIS into the interior is seemless and involves no loading screen or wait time it is instantaneous thanks to our World Manager system. You can actually see the interior from the outside and the exterior from the inside. The Doctor Who Client Mod is the first DW mod in minecraft to have a fully functional TARDIS.   • TARDIS Flight GUI - This is a unique system that acts as the interface to control the TARDIS in game. It acts as a hub of all the things you need to know to keep the TARDIS Functioning. Included in the functionality of the Flight GUI are displays for Rift & Artron Energy levels, Temporal Rift Location systems (places to refuel the TARDIS), Co-ordinate input for Translocational Travel (demat and remat from one place to another on the same planet.) You also have the ability to access the World Selection GUI directly from the TARDIS Flight GUI. You control direction with the mouse and height and speed with the WASD keys. TARDIS Flight in the GUI is identical to how you would control the player flying in creative mode. The GUI is activated through the console unite.   • Translocation [XYZ Coordinate Travel] - As mentioned above the TARDIS can also Translocate to specified coordinates through the TARDIS Flight GUI. This means that you can activate the Translocation menu through the TARDIS Flight GUI or the Console, once the menu is open you will then proceed to input your desired XYZ coordinates.   • Transcendental Dimensions (Bigger on the InsidePosted Image - The Doctor Who Client Mod is the very first Doctor Who minecraft mod to accomplish the task of a Bigger on the inside TARDIS. See the interior from the exterior and see the exterior from the interior, just like the show! The TARDIS Interior is loaded through the threshold of the TARDIS doors and transition between the two dimensions takes less than 1 millisecond.   • Sonic Screwdrivers & Sonic GUI - The Sonic Screwdriver will automatically identify what you are intending to power/active/use with the Sonic and will select it for you. You must then line up the selected icon and slide it into the center sphere to lock the screwdriver into the proper sonic frequency! Obviously if you do not align the icon with the center sphere the target correctly will not receive power or be activated! With the Sonic GUI comes our new 3D systems which will allow us to really enrich the user experience on our other GUIs like the World Selection GUI and TARDIS Flight GUI. Unless you have a serious problem with sight you would have noticed the 3D carousel and spinning and dipping of the icons. Again, it is hard to explain and you need to see it yourself!   • Original Story Line - The DWCM has a optional layer of storyline game-play. We wanted to go above and beyond what minecraft modifications have done in the past and with something such as Doctor Who there needs to be a goal for the Doctor to accomplish so we created a sandbox-story hybrid game-play experience. At the start of the game you will have a set amount of planets and time eras to travel to.   • Time Vortex - You cannot create something based on Doctor Who and not have the Time Vortex in there some way or another since it is what the TARDIS travels in time and space through. The DWCM Time Vortex is our own design of the vortex and it involves a mini-game style of usability. Basically you control the TARDIS direction with your mouse and try to avoid hitting temporal plasma clouds and entities that live in the Vortex, if you hit one you may be sent off course to a planet/time era you were not expecting to end up at. There are options for customizing the Time Vortex. Colors are defaulted at Murky Violet for Time Travel and Fiery Orange for Space Travel however you will be able customize the colors.   • World Selection GUI - The World Selection GUI is accessible from the monitors on the TARDIS Console, this system is used to select your destination you wish to travel to with the TARDIS. The Interface is an interactive map of the entire universe and of course a star chart of the universe must contain the Galaxies, Solar Systems and Planets contained in it. Once you select your destination through the GUI you will then dematerialize and entire the Time Vortex and rematerialized at the destination.     • Planets & Time Eras - The DWCM contains a vast range of Planets and Time eras that the player (as the Doctor) can travel to in the TARDIS.       • Solar Systems - Solar Systems in the DWCM contain several planets you can travel to such as the Adipose Breeding System or the Sol System.


  • Smart Entity System - This is our own type of AI that expands on the vanilla entity AI systems and allows our mob feature sets to be more complex.   • Regeneration - In the beginning of the DWCM storyline the Doctor regenerates into the 12th Doctor, while playing the game the player will have a amount of "Excess Regeneration Energy" that acts as a last chance system that will heal quite a bit of damage if both of the Time Lords hearts fails. The first regeneration system will be something akin to a Slot Machine, the player will have the chance to customize appearances quickly while the "lottery" is being drawn. The player will be able to customize the outfit of their Doctor through the Wardrobe system.   • Huon Particles & Swarms -In the Doctor Who Client Mod storyline the Doctors TARDIS' Huon particles have been infected with a previously unkown virus that causes the TARDIS to crash land on minecraftia and set the storylines chain of events into motion. The Huon Particles act in part with several of the TARDIS power systems. When the TARDIS transmatted the Memory Matrix Crystals across time and space Huons were transported with them and act as a detection system to find the crystals location.

  • Chameleon Circuit - When the TARDIS was brand new with a functioning chameleon circuit it could appear as almost anything. In the DWCM your Doctor partially repairs the circuit and can attempt to program the circuit to make it assume a specific shape. Occasionally the TARDIS will automatically select a shape from the large library of designs we have made for the the feature. At times the circuit will fail and you will either wind up with the default TARDIS appearance, malfunctioning police box designs or just flipping through designs randomly.   • TARDIS Key - What would the TARDIS be without a key to make sure your trusty ship is safe from the Daleks, Cybermen or the many species and people who want to get their hands on a the most powerful ship in the universe, even Winston Churchill. The TARDIS key in the Doctor Who Client Mod will act as a key obviously but it will also have the ability to act as a locator for the TARDIS in case you misplace it or the Hostile Action Displacement System causes it to relocate itself. In addition to those features the key will also be able to summon the TARDIS to your location TO A POINT. No, you will not be able to use the key as a get out of jail free card every time you land yourself in trouble with a hostile species or creature, that would remove all threat from the species. However if you have your portable Huon containment matrix filled up you will be able to combine the Key with the Huon Container and the TARDIS will materialize at your location.   • Total Menu Interface Overhaul - At this point we basically added so many levels to the gameplay of Minecraft that of course the game would need a whole new look for the main menu and eventually other menus.   • Addons & Downloadable Content - Doctor Who Client Mod as well as all iKingsSGC mod projects will have several different kinds of addons and DLC which the user can install from our reinvented main menu interface. Through the Addon and DLC system you will be able to install various modifications that have been made compatible with the Doctor Who Client Mod which will allow customization and a more unique experience for your adventures as the Doctor. Because of our re-write on how the game handles dimensions (planets/time eras) you will be able to add a compatible mod that adds dimensions and you will be able to travel to it through the TARDIS. In Addition to addons we will be creating content packs containing self contained story lines, adventures as past Doctors or even just new Doctor Who content that we have not incorporated into the mod by default. For example you can install a content pack that will allow you to add mobs that haven't been introduced into the main mod story for various reasons or you will be able to just simply download side missions either based on stories from the show or novels/graphics or even new adventures we created featuring past Doctors. If that was not enough we will also be including the option for users to submit their own DLC for review to be added to User Submitted tab in the DLC system.   • Modeled TARDIS Consoles - The Doctor Who Client Mod features several fully modeled Console units for your TARDIS Interior. Pick your favorite Console design and console room through the Architectural Reconfiguration System and apply it as your default . Choose a Desktop theme through the ARS (more information below) and you will have finishing building your own custom TARDIS Interior. Back on the topic of consoles, among the designs for the console you have tyo choose from we will have TARDIS Consoles from the classic series as well as from Modern Who in addition to our own custom console designs. Each side of the TARDIS Console controls a different feature including the World Selection GUI, TARDIS Flight (option to enable console controlled flight to fly with all 6 sections), Architectural Reconfiguration System, Memory Crystal Matrix (like a pokedex but cooler) and many other things.   • Archangel Communications Network - Based on the Archangel Network setup by The Master in the finale of season 3 (series 3) the DWCM contains a communication system that is linked to all iKingsSGC Resources. What this means is that while in game you can log onto the Archangel Network and communicate with anyone who is playing the Doctor Who Client Mod or who is logged onto the network on the iKingsSGC Forums or the iKingsSGC Hub (our custom client, info coming later in post.) We intent to introduce a complete companion system to compliment the Archangel Network to allow better interaction with your friends. Currently the system is in early testing stages and more features will be added as time goes on. Today we are going to be discussing some of the Mod Division Utilities that we are making open source!

Before
we get into the video topic please know that this thread was written by
@[USER=7795]Giraffestock[/USER] with minor edits by myself
@[USER=1]TheiKing[/USER].

During the long and hard transition to
1.5.2, which you can read about on the iKingsSGC Forums, the core Mod
Division team working on the Doctor Who Client Mod
@[USER=7795]Giraffestock[/USER] @[USER=1]TheiKing[/USER] and
@[USER=131]yofreke[/USER] have been discussing continuously what we plan
to do with what we have in terms of code. An API has always been
planned and is being worked on in order for the DWCM to support
Downloadable Content and Addons.

Currently, we have decided to
release certain Mod Division utilities in the hopes to help the over all
minecraft modding community. What this means is that some of our unique
utilities will now be open-source for all developers to use, modify,
and play with to their hearts delight.

  • Command Center


The
command center is a GUI for our debug console. It allows us to spawn
mobs, change the time, pause the game, reload, etc. with the click of a
button. The command center and the console are the same thing in terms
of code with a different look. They are in sync with each other. It
currently has a fairly basic look however we hope to customize it
further in the future.

  • MD Dev Console


The
console has more functionality then the command center but is text
based. You type in a command, such as 'time day' and the time will be
changed. It supports specific parameters and advanced options. An
example of specific parameters is for spawning mobs. You can say 'spawn
cow 33 23 1 1 1' which will spawn 33 cows with 23 health at the
coordinates 1,1,1. Commands are automatically added to both the Command
Center and Console and are easy to write. You can find examples of
commands on the Git repository. I need to point out that this was before
Mojang had added a similar system to the vanilla game itself however
this is much more advanced and capable of things that the vanilla
console system is not. In addition to the standard time and spawn stuff
that you are all accustomed to the MD Console can be used to spawn
schematics into your world among other cool features.

  • Model Viewer


The
Model Viewer is an extension to the Command Center. You may have seen
it in some videos; it renders models from the game in a 3D gui for
viewing your models in game. It supports any models, whether they are
for items, blocks, entities, etc. You can also render it inside custom
GUI's for customization. Please understand that as the Model Viewer
evolves into the In Game Modeler that aspect may not be bundled in as
part of this open source package.

Doctor Who Client Mod [Massive Update]



What do you get when you combine Doctor Who Client Mod files with a recent version of Minecraft? An update of epic proportions.

Yupthat is right Doctor Who Client Mod is being brought out of the stone
age of Minecraft and being updated to Minecraft 1.5.2. Once the 1.5.2
update is completed we will then update to 1.6.4 where the Doctor Who
Client Mod will stay for the foreseeable future. Essentially the only
reason we are updating to a recent version at all is due to what forge
can offer us that cannot be done in 1.2.5. It is something we have
always planned to do and now wer are finally doing it. Regardless of how
infuriatingly inconvenient it is for me to have to keep track of
thousands of individual texture files as opposed to our nice little
texture maps it needed to be done to smooth performance on several of
our major systems as well as to allow us to complete the remaining
things that need to be done in order to begin our closed alpha testing.

There
are two reasons that there have not been any Daily Reports the last
week and a half and that is partially because I was not feeling well and
I could barely talk and mostly because the update is consuming most of
everyone's time.

The interesting thing about our  update process
is that because of the way we have written the code moving the major
features from version to version is a relatively simple process and we
are neck deep in that updating. It is simple but it does take time to
make sure everything works error free so please be bear with us during
this transitional period.

I will likely be doing several model
showcases over the next few weeks or something other than our regular
feature showcases due to the fact that no new content is being added in
game until after the Update is completed.

So yeah I sorta rambled
in this video because I still am not feeling that great and I need to
rush this recording before people get home and frankly its snowing so
hard I think that the power may go out. I will likely release a more
indepth video sometime in the future but for now please like subscribe

New Daleks Model Showcase

What is going on everyone, todays daily report brings another Model Showcase. Today I bring you a first look at two new Dalek Models that will be included in the DWCM replacing the existing Daleks.

This was initially intended to be the first iKings Patron Report but I am still working out how to make each post restricted to patrons which is why I am sharing this with everyone today.

So yes, today I am unveilling two of the 13 new Dalek Models that have been completed in the last month. I have never been happy with the existing Dalek Model which is why at the middle or end of January I decided to totally redo the Daleks as well as a few other mobs that I have never been happy with. The result of trying to create the perfect Dalek for minecraft resulted in at least 20 different models that I limited down to thirteen. Today you are seeing two of them.

So the first one you are seeing is the New Dalek with a Totally new body shape and the second one you will see is the New Dalek with Old Body shape.

For the Dalek with the Old Body shape it was important to me to incorporate the familiar shape people have become accustomed to. I wanted this redesign of the model to be more of a refresh than a totally new Dalek design even though I did rebuild the model piece by piece.

As for the Dalek With the New Body I took inspiration how complex most of our models have become over the years since we did the Original Dalek Model. With the new Dalek we also have the new head as a dome design as the Dalek With Old Body but we also have a complex body shape complete with angled pieces forming an amazing looking Dalek that truely looks like the shape of a Dalek. Granted you can only go so far in a Minecraft model made in Techne before things go nuts with texture clipping but with what limited space I had to work with on this Dalek I think it came out rather well.

Keep in mind these are only 2 of 13 new Dalek Models so keep an eye out for those!

At this point we basically added so many levels to the gameplay of Minecraft that of course the game would need a whole new look for the main menu and eventually other menus. With the new main menu we were able to include the ability to do things like download and install Addons and & DLC or enjoy an interactive Time Vortex background in addition to many other things that introduce new ways to customize your Doctor Who Minecraft experience.
  • Addons & Downloadable Content: READ ABOUT THE DLC & ADDON SYSTEM HERE http://ikingssgc.com...nt-system.3582/
  • Story/Freeplay: Launch your gamesave from this tab
  • Credits: Open up the Credit animation
  • Options: Configure your experience with all of the options
  • Quit Game: Just like it sounds
  • Version Label: DWCM replaces the version numbers with a actual name related to the content of that update. The First version will be called DWCM: Regeneration.
  • Copyright: Not that interesting, just that typical copyright stuff
  • Interactive Time Vortex Background: Exactly how it sounds. The Time Vortex in the background will change directions with your mouse!

#2 Awesome TARDIS Demat Updates

Along with the custom text render for the Chameleon Circuit I just want to show off another image that would have gone to waste if not for the patreon campaign. Images like these dev pictures just get shoved away to a folder to collect dust, with the patreon campaign we want tobe able to share these images with people as a thank you for keeping us funding. Anyways I cannot say much about this however I can say that you will be able to customize the look of your TARDIS materialization effect as well as the signs.

Daily Report Intro 2014 - Classic Who Style

What is going on everyone welcome to the iKings Daily Report. Today is not a feature reveal or update or anything like that, this is actually something I am personally really excited about. As you guys know I am a graphic design student and while I enjoy making videos like I always do about features but my major interest lies in visual graphics & animation but beyond creating new thread headers and intros based on the same template I do not really get a chance to let the creativity out to play.

So while working on designing the stickers for the Patreon rewards last night I decided to just let loose and for whatever reason I decided to redo the iKings Daily Report intro. Now jumping from 16 seconds to a whopping 27 seconds the new intro is based around the late Tom Baker era intro sequence and merging it into modern who style intro using the DWCM time vortex.

The sting and stars at the beginning are directly influenced by the 1980 Tom Baker intro and then we begin to merge classic with modern & DWCM when the time vortex comes into play. It is not a very interesting intro for 2014 if the text just appears on the screen in a fade in/fade out sort of effect so the modern text effects and swoop stay in action.

The Graphics about the Patreon campaign are simply coincidental really. I needed to complete this new intro template for the next daily report and the next video that will be published is the full information about the patreon campaign so I just decided to include the Patreon graphics in this so I did not need to waste time and I could kill two birds with one stone.
With the new intro being influenced by classic I felt the need that the intro graphics needed a bit of classic influence as well which is why I went and reutilized the Classic Doctor Who logo that I made for DWCM 50th week and made it the new logo for DWCM daily reports for the videos. As you can see above it is pretty massive and a waste of space so it will likely not be used in Daily Report threads!

It was really fun to do and I hope that you all enjoy it. Oh...yeah I need to finish designing the patreon stickers to order 200 of them tomorrow morning!

The Modeler - In Game Modeling System

What is going on everyone? In todays Daily Report I cover an update to the In Game Modeler system.

The most recent updates to The Modeler system are small however they are necessary for any sort of intuitive model design. This update brings offset movement. What this means is you can drag the model you are viewing or creating around the screen by pressing shift and moving the model around. This may not seem like much however in the grand scheme of the system Offset movement is quite significant.

In the last video I was unclear on a few subjects regarding this system that I just want to stress a bit more in this update video. I should have made sure that I clarified that this system automatically identifies any model that is in the game. This means that every single Mob, Modeled Block, Sonic Screwdriver or other 3D items are automatically registered by the system. The reason I am stressing this is so that you know that you can view anything that has been added in game and potentially modify them to suit your needs to customize your Doctor Who minecraft experience.

The Modeler - In Game Modeling System

What is going on everyone, welcome to the iKings Daily Report. Today I am going to be revealing the first version of the In-Game Model Viewer system that will eventually lead into our own in game modeler for the iKingsSGC Mod Division Projects!

So yeah when we set out to do our Addons and DLC System we asked ourselves several questions that we felt were very important to the common user. One of these questions were What could make Modeling easier. Alot of people use Techne for modeling and yes it is a great program but it is a bit difficult to use especially on lower powered machines. We wanted people to be able to do the modeling from the game itself and we are well on our way to achieving that goal.

The In Game Modeler is of course in its early stages of development and most of the planned features have not been started or worked on yet. What we do have right now is the ability to show off any model added to the game and have it rotate in a nice fashion. You can zoom in and out, control the viewing angle and other such things.

What I really want to stress is that what you are seeing in this video is just the first of many things to come in this system. Our goals for the in game modeler and model viewer are wildly ambitious however they are achievable. We intend on adding a system that will allow you to plot out your mobs animations through the game itself and you will be able to export the model code as a .java. It is also likely that we will be able to export it as a TCN file so you can open the model up in Techne if you wish.

Again this is the very first version of the system and there is much more to come. This will be an amazing piece of content in and of itself however it has amazing potential combined with our Addons and Downloadable Content System. Imagine being able to model your creature, animate it and add it into the game directly from the game itself. It is just another in a long list of things that we are doing to allow the player to customize their own Doctor Who experience.

What is going on everyone, welcome to the iKings Daily Report. Today I am going to be revealing the first version of the In-Game Model Viewer system that will eventually lead into our own in game modeler for the iKingsSGC Mod Division Projects!

So yeah when we set out to do our Addons and DLC System we asked ourselves several questions that we felt were very important to the common user. One of these questions were What could make Modeling easier. Alot of people use Techne for modeling and yes it is a great program but it is a bit difficult to use especially on lower powered machines. We wanted people to be able to do the modeling from the game itself and we are well on our way to achieving that goal.

The In Game Modeler is of course in its early stages of development and most of the planned features have not been started or worked on yet. What we do have right now is the ability to show off any model added to the game and have it rotate in a nice fashion. You can zoom in and out, control the viewing angle and other such things.

What I really want to stress is that what you are seeing in this video is just the first of many things to come in this system. Our goals for the in game modeler and model viewer are wildly ambitious however they are achievable. We intend on adding a system that will allow you to plot out your mobs animations through the game itself and you will be able to export the model code as a .java. It is also likely that we will be able to export it as a TCN file so you can open the model up in Techne if you wish.

Again this is the very first version of the system and there is much more to come. This will be an amazing piece of content in and of itself however it has amazing potential combined with our Addons and Downloadable Content System. Imagine being able to model your creature, animate it and add it into the game directly from the game itself. It is just another in a long list of things that we are doing to allow the player to customize their own Doctor Who experience.

What is going on everyone, this is a different sort of Daily Report because it acts as a Doctors Journal blog and a teaser. Thanks to @Blind_Guard666 and the sale of a few of my things I was able replace several of my desktop components. This teaser video was made to test the new rendering capabilities of my graphic card and test my new CPU Cooler under the stress of video rendering. I will be making a seperate post/video sometime soon outlining the changes to my desktop and what still needs to be replaced.

My laptop is still broken and I appreciate the donations of everyone who has given me money that they didn't have to. Still have a ways to go until I can replace the display on the laptop but I just wanted to thank everyone who is helping me get there!

Now onto what you are all really interested in (Dalek Storm & Dalek Update Teaser)

Like I said above this video really does not serve much use other than testing out what my new graphics card and liquid cpu cooler can handle. Surprisingly it rendered this 1080p in under four minutes which is a stark contrast to the 15 minutes it would have taken my desktop last week.

Anyways so yes, in this video I tease that the Mystery Feature has something to do with Dalek Storm. Well I can say that it really isn't....but it could be. The Mystery Feature is something really exciting that is of course adaptable to many uses which no-one actually guessed out of the few hundred posts. Well that isn't. true some were close but to their defense they can't possibly know the systems true purpose because it has about 9 different adaptations that are possible and I can think of at least 5 other ones that could come.

Anyways I mentioned something about Major Dalek Updates.....since this is a teaser Daily Report/Blog all I can say is that there are some massive updates to the Daleks that will be coming soon. How about that for a informative post.

The Doctor Who Client Mod features the worlds first full functioning T.A.R.D.I.S in Minecraft complete with being able to see the interior from the outside, Translocation System (travel on the same planet quickly), as well as the ability to travel to many planets and time eras through the Time Vortex!

Imagine a universe in which you are the 2100 year old Time Lord known as, The Doctor. Imagine You had the ability to travel to new planets, Now imagine that you weren't imagining this. You are The Doctor, you have a Type 40 T.A.R.D.I.S that you call Sexy, and you are able to travel to and explore an untold number of worlds, taking on quests to save those worlds in this exciting sandbox game with story elements built into Minecraft!

What does Sandbox/Story Gameplay Hybrid Mean?

The Doctor Who Client Mod gameplay is unlike anything you may have played in Minecraft in the past. The DWCM has what we have called a sandbox-story hybrid gameplay hybrid. What this means is that while the DWCM has a storyline incorporated with the gameplay it is in the background. It exists but you do not have to always participate in it, the gameplay you are used to with vanilla minecraft still exists, you can still build, mine and free roam. The story just adds another level to the game that adds an OPTIONAL way to enhance your gameplay. With the story comes actual cutscenes rendered in blender and maya as well as a narrative. Take a listen to what the cutscene animation that plays when creating a new game-save (map) will be like (or read it if that is your thing.)

  • The TARDIS - One of the Most prominent features of the DWCM. The TARDIS is the Doctors main mode of transportation around the cosmos and through time. With a enormous" bigger on the inside" Dimensionally Transcendental interior the TARDIS is a great place to find hidden features and easter eggs as well as go on adventures and expeditions like they have never done in the show. The transition from the outside of the TARDIS into the interior is seemless and involves no loading screen or wait time it is instantaneous thanks to our World Manager system. You can actually see the interior from the outside and the exterior from the inside. The Doctor Who Client Mod is the first DW mod in minecraft to have a fully functional TARDIS. The TARDIS can also Translocate (dematerialize and rematerialize) to specified coordinates through the TARDIS Flight GUI or the Modeled Console unit!

  • TARDIS Flight GUI - This is a unique system that acts as the interface to control the TARDIS in game. It acts as a hub of all the things you need to know to keep the TARDIS Functioning. Included in the functionality of the Flight GUI are displays for Rift & Artron Energy levels, Temporal Rift Location systems (places to refuel the TARDIS), Co-ordinate input for Translocational Travel (demat and remat from one place to another on the same planet.) You also have the ability to access the World Selection GUI directly from the TARDIS Flight GUI. You control direction with the mouse and height and speed with the WASD keys. TARDIS Flight in the GUI is identical to how you would control the player flying in creative mode. The GUI is activated through the console unite. In the future (possibly second release) you will be able to activate an AutoPilot or control the TARDIS through the controls on the Console unit itself.

  • Translocation [XYZ Coordinate Travel] - As mentioned above the TARDIS can also Translocate to specified coordinates through the TARDIS Flight GUI. This means that you can activate the Translocation menu through the TARDIS Flight GUI or the Console, once the menu is open you will then proceed to input your desired XYZ coordinates. Once you click Translocate the TARDIS will begin to dematerialize.

  • Transcendental Dimensions (Bigger on the InsidePosted Image - The Doctor Who Client Mod is the very first Doctor Who minecraft mod to accomplish the task of a Bigger on the inside TARDIS. See the interior from the exterior and see the exterior from the interior, just like the show! The TARDIS Interior is loaded through the threshold of the TARDIS doors and transition between the two dimensions takes less than 1 millisecond. This system will only improve from its current state, there are still a few kinks to work out but it will function exactly as it does in the show very soon!

  • Sonic Screwdrivers & Sonic GUI - The Sonic Screwdriver will automatically identify what you are intending to power/active/use with the Sonic and will select it for you. You must then line up the selected icon and slide it into the center sphere to lock the screwdriver into the proper sonic frequency! Obviously if you do not align the icon with the center sphere the target correctly will not receive power or be activated! With the Sonic GUI comes our new 3D systems which will allow us to really enrich the user experience on our other GUIs like the World Selection GUI and TARDIS Flight GUI. Unless you have a serious problem with sight you would have noticed the 3D carousel and spinning and dipping of the icons. Again, it is hard to explain and you need to see it yourself!   • Original Story Line - The DWCM has a optional layer of storyline game-play. We wanted to go above and beyond what minecraft modifications have done in the past and with something such as Doctor Who there needs to be a goal for the Doctor to accomplish so we created a sandbox-story hybrid game-play experience. At the start of the game you will have a set amount of planets and time eras to travel to. To unlock more content you will need to find TARDIS Memory Crystals that were scattered through time and space in the opening cut scene animation.

  • Time Vortex - You cannot create something based on Doctor Who and not have the Time Vortex in there some way or another since it is what the TARDIS travels in time and space through. The DWCM Time Vortex is our own design of the vortex and it involves a mini-game style of usability. Basically you control the TARDIS direction with your mouse and try to avoid hitting temporal plasma clouds and entities that live in the Vortex, if you hit one you may be sent off course to a planet/time era you were not expecting to end up at. There are options for customizing the Time Vortex. Colors are defaulted at Murky Violet for Time Travel and Fiery Orange for Space Travel however you will be able customize the colors. Time Travel = Cool Colors, Space Travel = Warm Colors

  • World Selection GUI - The World Selection GUI is accessible from the monitors on the TARDIS Console, this system is used to select your destination you wish to travel to with the TARDIS. The Interface is an interactive map of the entire universe and of course a star chart of the universe must contain the Galaxies, Solar Systems and Planets contained in it. Once you select your destination through the GUI you will then dematerialize and entire the Time Vortex and rematerialized at the destination. The WSGUI is currently undergoing some enhancements involving our new 3D Carousel System.

    • Planets & Time Eras - The DWCM contains a vast range of Planets and Time eras that the player (as the Doctor) can travel to in the TARDIS. By default there is a set amount of planets that are accessible, to unlock more planets all you have to do is find more TARDIS Memory Crystals and the greyed out planets and Time Eras will be accessible.

      • Solar Systems - Solar Systems in the DWCM contain several planets you can travel to such as the Adipose Breeding System or the Sol System.


  • Smart Entity System - This is our own type of AI that expands on the vanilla entity AI systems and allows our mob feature sets to be more complex. Currently there are over 50 Species of entities in the DWCM and the list is constantly growing.

  • Regeneration - In the beginning of the DWCM storyline the Doctor regenerates into the 12th Doctor, while playing the game the player will have a amount of "Excess Regeneration Energy" that acts as a last chance system that will heal quite a bit of damage if both of the Time Lords hearts fails. The first regeneration system will be something akin to a Slot Machine, the player will have the chance to customize appearances quickly while the "lottery" is being drawn. The player will be able to customize the outfit of their Doctor through the Wardrobe system. Additional Regenerations will depend on the outcome of the story.

  • Huon Particles & Swarms -In the Doctor Who Client Mod storyline the Doctors TARDIS' Huon particles have been infected with a previously unkown virus that causes the TARDIS to crash land on minecraftia and set the storylines chain of events into motion. The Huon Particles act in part with several of the TARDIS power systems. When the TARDIS transmatted the Memory Matrix Crystals across time and space Huons were transported with them and act as a detection system to find the crystals location.

  • Chameleon Circuit - When the TARDIS was brand new with a functioning chameleon circuit it could appear as almost anything. In the DWCM your Doctor partially repairs the circuit and can attempt to program the circuit to make it assume a specific shape. Occasionally the TARDIS will automatically select a shape from the large library of designs we have made for the the feature. At times the circuit will fail and you will either wind up with the default TARDIS appearance, malfunctioning police box designs or just flipping through designs randomly. You will control this system through a GUI activated on the modeled TARDIS Console.

  • TARDIS Key - What would the TARDIS be without a key to make sure your trusty ship is safe from the Daleks, Cybermen or the many species and people who want to get their hands on a the most powerful ship in the universe, even Winston Churchill. The TARDIS key in the Doctor Who Client Mod will act as a key obviously but it will also have the ability to act as a locator for the TARDIS in case you misplace it or the Hostile Action Displacement System causes it to relocate itself. In addition to those features the key will also be able to summon the TARDIS to your location TO A POINT. No, you will not be able to use the key as a get out of jail free card every time you land yourself in trouble with a hostile species or creature, that would remove all threat from the species. However if you have your portable Huon containment matrix filled up you will be able to combine the Key with the Huon Container and the TARDIS will materialize at your location. You will of course need a full supply of Huons in the container for this to happen and once you summon the TARDIS the particles will be used up.

  • Total Menu Interface Overhaul - At this point we basically added so many levels to the gameplay of Minecraft that of course the game would need a whole new look for the main menu and eventually other menus. With the new main menu we were able to include the ability to do things like download and install Addons and & DLC or enjoy an interactive Time Vortex background in addition to many other things that introduce new ways to customize your Doctor Who Minecraft experience.

  • Addons & Downloadable Content - Doctor Who Client Mod as well as all iKingsSGC mod projects will have several different kinds of addons and DLC which the user can install from our reinvented main menu interface. Through the Addon and DLC system you will be able to install various modifications that have been made compatible with the Doctor Who Client Mod which will allow customization and a more unique experience for your adventures as the Doctor. Because of our re-write on how the game handles dimensions (planets/time eras) you will be able to add a compatible mod that adds dimensions and you will be able to travel to it through the TARDIS. In Addition to addons we will be creating content packs containing self contained story lines, adventures as past Doctors or even just new Doctor Who content that we have not incorporated into the mod by default. For example you can install a content pack that will allow you to add mobs that haven't been introduced into the main mod story for various reasons or you will be able to just simply download side missions either based on stories from the show or novels/graphics or even new adventures we created featuring past Doctors. If that was not enough we will also be including the option for users to submit their own DLC for review to be added to User Submitted tab in the DLC system. It is the perfect way to introduce your own Doctor Who based or Original content for thousands of people to enjoy!

  • Modeled TARDIS Consoles - The Doctor Who Client Mod features several fully modeled Console units for your TARDIS Interior. Pick your favorite Console design and console room through the Architectural Reconfiguration System and apply it as your default . Choose a Desktop theme through the ARS (more information below) and you will have finishing building your own custom TARDIS Interior. Back on the topic of consoles, among the designs for the console you have tyo choose from we will have TARDIS Consoles from the classic series as well as from Modern Who in addition to our own custom console designs. Each side of the TARDIS Console controls a different feature including the World Selection GUI, TARDIS Flight (option to enable console controlled flight to fly with all 6 sections), Architectural Reconfiguration System, Memory Crystal Matrix (like a pokedex but cooler) and many other things. Players will be able to assign a function or multiple functions to a section of the TARDIS Console, again all about customization for the player crafting their own experience.)

  • Archangel Communications Network - Based on the Archangel Network setup by The Master in the finale of season 3 (series 3) the DWCM contains a communication system that is linked to all iKingsSGC Resources. What this means is that while in game you can log onto the Archangel Network and communicate with anyone who is playing the Doctor Who Client Mod or who is logged onto the network on the iKingsSGC Forums or the iKingsSGC Hub (our custom client, info coming later in post.) We intent to introduce a complete companion system to compliment the Archangel Network to allow better interaction with your friends. Currently the system is in early testing stages and more features will be added as time goes on. This system will allow players to ask for help IN GAME if they are stuck on parts of the storyline or it will simply allow people to converse with people throughout the Minecraft Whoniverse.

Introducing - Time and Space Travel with the TARDIS!

Today I will be previewing an amazing new mystery feature. I cant really say much without giving everything away so you'll just have to check it out!

This mystery feature will be revealed in a future video however for the time
being I will say that this feature is in its early stages but when finished it will
be something to marvel at. It is also the base for our own lighting system
that can be put to use in other features.

Could this be regeneration? Mob specific feature? Purple Something for The Grim? New TARDIS Feature? Architectural Reconfiguration Animation? All of the Above?

TARDIS Time/Space Travel System - Real TARDIS Travel in Minecraft!

January 8th, 2014

This video was recorded before the Transcendental Dimension

system was introduced. Please understand that we did not remove it,

this video was simply recorded on a version completed during the

12 Days of Christmas in Relative Dimensions and was originally intended to be

Day #12 however my computer is dieing so I had to repair it a bit to get

it to render. Still having computer issues and need to replace the Graphics

card, wifi adapter & CPU cooling unit.

Introducing - Time and Space Travel with the TARDIS!

Today we will be showing an update of how you travel through time and space through the use of the TARDIS, the World Selection GUI, the Time vortex and the materialization systems. This feature is currently a work in progress and not 100% bug free. We implemented this feature in late August or very early September 2013. Are you ready to become a Time Lord, lets get started.

The whole process is pretty simple to use. It basically goes like this:

Enter TARDIS< Walk to Console < Open World Selection GUI < Select Planet/Time Era < Click Demat < Demat < Travel through Time Vortex < Remat < Leave TARDIS < Explore!

Once the Console System is completed you will be able to do all of this from the Modeled TARDIS Console!

Transcendental Dimension Update #1 - TARDIS Doors & Exterior From Interior + A CRAP TON OF BUG FIXES

Coming at you right from a blizzard is a Daily Report that majorly updates the Transcendental Dimension system. See the exterior from the interior and the return of the doors!

DISCLAIMER

What you are about to see is the a very early version of the

Transcendental Dimension system. It is the result of only 72 hours worth of

work and this means that there will be bugs and issues with it

that will be resolved as it is worked on more. Normally we do not share

features until they are completed or most of the kinks have been worked

out however this one is so special that we want everyone to see it

come into existence!

iKings Daily Report: Feature Debut

TARDIS Translocation System - [Coordinate Travel]

Wednesday January 1st, 2014

What is going on everyone this is the iKings Daily Report. Today I will be debuting the TARDIS Translocation System (fancy way of saying TARDIS travel between coordinates)

So after a very successful string of 50th week and 12 Days of Christmas Daily Reports what could be better than to return to the normal Daily Report format on the very first day of 2014 and what a Daily Report this is.

Today I am unveiling the amazing TARDIS Translocation System. Basically Translocation is just a fancy way of saying move from one place to another. In this case it means Inputing a set of coordinates on a planet you want to travel to and the TARDIS will then dematerialize and rematerialize at the coordinates you set. We have been meaning to finish this system for quite some time and now it is finally done and ready to show off to everyone!

So right now the Translocation System is accessed through the TARDIS Flight GUI for convienience however once the Console System is completed we will also allow it to be controlled from the console itself!

Some of you may have noticed in this video that I controled the TARDIS directly from the interior and that I am no longer using the flight control block from the exterior. This is because we have completed our systems that allow the TARDIS To travel anywhere with the player inside of it and exit at the destination. It"s some cool stuff but I cannot share that with you until a future post that will debut yet another in a long line of amazing features we have completed in preparation for our first release candidate version

I am going to do a basic feature rundown of what the TARDIS Translocation is currently capable of doing in its first version and then list the coming features we just didn't have time to get to yet.

Current Features of TARDIS Translocate:
  • Accessed From TARDIS Flight GUI, just left or right click when in TARDIS Flight and move your mouse cursor to the Translocate button.
  • Coordinate Input - Define your destination coordinates with XYZ
  • Once coordinates have been registered by the system the TARDIS Will then Dematerialize from its current location and it will rematerialize at the desired destination
  • TARDIS Takeoff and Landing sounds are also now fully working in game when dematerializing and rematerializing respectively
  • Yes, the light bulb has also always flashed yet some people have failed to see it so I am pointing it out now.
  • Dematerialization/Rematerialization Progress bar - This can be found on the middle bar at the bottom of the Flight GUI. THis allows you to see how much longer until the TARDIS is fully Dematerialized and Rematerialized


Features that will be added in the coming days:
  • Coordinate Randomizer - This will allow the more adventurous people (this is doctor who, the very definition of adventure) just wind up at a random location on any planet!
  • In-valid Location Detector - This will detect whether or not you are attempting to input coordinates that are underground and will prevent you from successfully re-materializing there. You will instead rematerialize at your current coordinates.
  • TARDIS Console Controls - As stated above this will just directly open the Translocation GUI from the TARDIS Console.


Also as a fun fact I have finally ditched Fraps and I am now using Playclaw. I made the switch because of the issues my computer is having but also because fraps is just horribly inefficient from framerate to speed. With fraps while trying to record this video I was only getting 13FPS (extremely odd even with my computer issues) and with playclaw I was maintaining my 200FPS. So for the first time in DWCM history you can see the TARDIS Flight in its full rotational glory. Without fraps bogging down the framerate you can now see the TARDIS rotation as it was meant to be.

Also if it seems like the video is a bit "laggy" it is not my game, It was my first time using playclaw and I had not properly set it up with all the right preferences for a smooth output however that will be fixed in the next video Posted Image

What is going on everyone and today we have a very special video and post. Today I am going to be demonstrating the cutscene system for the very first time. I do not really know what else to say about this except.... FREAKING CUTSCENES....IN MINECRAFT. Forget about us breaking the rule of no circles a long time ago, forget about the TARDIS Travel System, forget about everything.... FREAKING CUTSCENES.....IN Minecraft!

Back on topic I have to point out that this is a very early version of the system, it will atomatically close in the final version once your map has loaded or the cutscene has finished playing however for testing we have left it open. So instead of pointing out an issue as if it were a matter of fact thing please understand that this is literally the first version of the system and it will of course be improved but come on....FREAKING CUTSCENES IN MINECRAFT. Can you believe people actually said it was impossible....nothing is impossible, just a bit unlikely.

6 Days Until Christmas Eve

Well it is 7th day of Christmas in Relative Dimensions and it is still snowing like crazy outside. Today you get a first look at a DWCM Cutscene as well as two Santa's Village Sneek Peeks. Lets get into it!

So due to various reasons yesterday I was unable to get the day 6 video up. Between weather, my Orientation to Graphics final and mainly computer related issues I was unable to get the video recorded, edited and published. So to make up for that I published the day 6 video this morning and now you get to have a double dose of DWCM in a single day.

So this post and video are going to be pretty straight forward. I give you first look at a Doctor Who Client Mod cutscene animation render and then I show off not one but TWO Santa's Village features at the end of the Video.

So in this frame of the Animation we see the 12th Doctor opening the Doors of the TARDIS revealing what appears to be the current Matt Smith interior. Let me know what you guys think of the fingers, personally I am not a fan of them, I think they look a little too much like hooks.

I will be back to introduce today's Santa's Village Sneak Peek.

Day Seven Santa's Village Sneak Peek: Christmas Wreath & Ornament Melons

So here we have the Christmas Wreath which is a modeled block purely for aesthetic purpose and decoration and then we have the Ornament Melons which grow naturally on the planet and can also be used on Christmas trees as they never go bad and their stems are like hooks.

IKing, can you please talk to your community and tell them to keep there opinions about the dalek mod to themselfs and not come on the forums and post about how they thing our mod is terrible. because this was posted on the forums today and I do not like it and I dont like seeing it (I know I did that along time ago but I didnt understand when I posted about that) here is the post "Everyone won't be using this mod when the doctor who client mod comes out. Also, I feel some of this is a worse copy of it. This mod compared to the doctor who client mod is crap in my options. But, I will use this mod until the DWCM comes out." if you can please talk to your community. Thank you.

We need to finish the massive update to 1.5.2 and then proceed to update to 1.6.4. The reason for this is simply because 1.5.2 is a stepping stone that makes the jump to 1.6.4 much simpler.

However we will probably be releasing the first Open Alpha/Beta version of the DWCM on 1.5.2 as to not keep people waiting any longer.

No, a client mod is a mod that keeps the same version of minecraft and builds a launcher for the version of minecraft with the mod inside. So basically the mod is stand alone and you can play minecraft on the minecraft launcher and DWCM on its launcher. So... it's seperate launchers. This mod is going to be absolulty huge, with like a gazillian things. Or client mod could also be considered "not a server mod". There are two meanings but at the moment they are both true to this mod.

This could be the best mod. wow, Thanks to everyone who is working on it for us, we appreiciate it a lot.
I have one question at the moment, How big will this mod be and is it like a launcher by itself something like Tekkit/FTB ? (Sorry for such a stupid question, I am new to minecraft mods.)

Also, you should add companions and the Satan from the one episode, I forget the name of the episode, but it was like on a ship that crashed on a planet and can't get out and stuff and with a giant satan towards the end.

Seeing how it has a lot of stuff in it like a storymode, npc's, very detailed textures, GUIs, it's probably gonna be a big download, but hopefully no too big...
