Unlike many other minimap mods, Xaero's minimap keeps the feel and look of vanilla Minecraft which might even make you forget that it was a mod in the first place. It's also the first rotating square minimap for Minecraft but there is a toggle to make it lock north and not rotate. You can place waypoints and the full version of the minimap also displays entities, such as players, mobs and items.

It may be not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use as long as it remains in its unaltered, unedited form.   • The feel and look of vanilla Minecraft.
  • Runs smoother than most minimap mods.
  • 2 mod editions: full and fair-play. Full version does not have any limits. Fair-play version does not display any entities or cave maps which is more suitable for public PVP servers.

  • Option to limit your Minimap usage by binding it to an item that you'll need to have in your hotbar in order for the minimap show up. For example, add minimapItemId:minecraft:compass anywhere in the config file to bind it to compass.

  • Togglable slime chunks mode.
  • Waypoints. Infinite amount. Can be teleported to (permission needed). Press B to create a new waypoint. Press U to list all the waypoints.

* Upgrade to Minecraft 1.11.
* Fixed compatibility with mods like the Building Bricks mod which determine which texture the blocks use based on properties that are not stored in blocks' meta data.
Achieving the same result for the World Map mod will take more time but it will come with the next update.
* Restructured the source code, mainly for convenience, which should make working with a lot of mod versions a bit less frustrating. This might (not necessarily) break some things so please report if I missed something when testing.
Downgrading the new code to 1.7.10 will take more time than usual, but only this time. I wanted to release the 1.11 mod edition ASAP, I will try to get everything else done next week.

+ Added new visual terrain options to the minimap settings: terrain depth and terrain slopes.
The "terrain depth" option adds depth to the maps by using blocks' height levels to calculate brightness.
Slopes are what was used prior to this update but it can now be disabled, for whatever weird reason, maybe you like minimalism.
The new options have absolutely no impact on the performance.
If you're using world map chunks then this won't work but don't worry, a similar update is coming to the world map mod soon.
* Fixed dots scale resetting on client restart.

You will now instantly see all loaded chunks when pressing the "enlarge" (Z) key :)
This improves the mod overall perfomance a lot and also fixes lag spikes on lower-end computers.
* Improved loading time when using multiple of my mods by recoding Patreon handling system for more optimized multiple mod support.
* Fixed a crash that sometimes happened when you pressed the enlarge key while also in safe mode.
* Fixed Optifine's Vignette option causing the minimap to become invisible.
+ Added capes as Patreon rewards.
Anyone using any of my mods (after a certain mod update) will be able to see capes on Patrons (including themselves).

This way the minimap will only display when having the set item in your hotbar. Can be useful for modpacks.

What does the option "WP over compass" do? Turning it on or off I cannot see anything different?

If the compass and waypoints overlap, this option will determine what to render on top.

I assume this is the same creator of this as the person who made Rai's mini-map and if not I apologize in advance. Whatever the case maybe I wanted to say that I absolutely Love this Mini-Map it is by far the easiest to use and Navigate with.

If I had one suggestion I could make it would be to please allow the users to change the Mini-Map from square to round if they would like to, I know round doesn't fit into Minecraft at all beings as Minecraft is blocks and not round at all but I find that I would prefer to be able to view it as a round map rather than a square because I feel like the square map takes up space I know it doesn't and that it is just me but I still feel like it would be a good addition to the map.

Thanks for the waypoint changing key - it makes it so much easier - however, maybe some visual indication that you have switched sets would be good - for example a fade-in/out line of text at the very bottom - below coordinate and biome, or just a chat message.

Unrelated to the minimap, more to do with world map, but I didn't want to make a seperate post. I think it could be more useful, at least for some people, disabled waypoints to be enableable in the world map using the same hotkey (This could be toggled in the worldmap settings menu)

In the normal worldmap, when you hover over an enabled waypoint, the option appears to disable it - the default keybinding is H - this is told next to the message of "Edit - Right click, Teleport - T, Delete - Delete".

What I mean is that when you disable a waypoint, instead of the current system where having a waypoint disables does all of the following:
-Stop you seeing it in the world
-Stop you seeing it on the minimap
-Stop you seeing it on the worldmap
I suggest that a setting is added to make it so that instead of the last point (making it invisible on the worldmap), it will be visible Only in the worldmap, but in a less vibrant manner perhaps, which would allow for it to be reenabled using the same key. This would be easier when you have hundreds of waypoints to search through, but know where they are, as in my usecase (I downloaded them from minezmap.com and wrote a conversion program). This would be my preferred method. A further point would be making the waypoints list searchable, depending on the feasability of course.

My friend and I can no longer see items on the minimap. The option to see them is ticked and they used to work but suddenly stopped a few days ago. We have the latest versions of Forge, Optifine, your world map and your minimap.

It may be related to our other problem: the minimap is forced into Safe Mode. It keeps telling me to turn off Fast Rendering... which I have done. It will not exit Safe Mode. Any advice?

Check if you accidently turned safe mode on yourself, while trying to fix the issue. If this doesn't help, can you PM me your Optifine config file?

ok.. step 2 appears to be install LiteLoader, i'll stick with what i've got thank, it's close enough not to warrant the extra stress:) note: i'm not needing the surface mapping function so i've set the transparency to 0 and removed the boarders with a texture patch, might try fiddling with some of the class files to see if i can fluke a win:)

It's not the mod crashing. Forge doesn't even reach any of the mods. Try reinstalling Forge.

"Not harmful"? Dude have you ever seen netbee ads? Every damn mod i try to download gives me a virus ad. Have you ever bothered to read netbee's terms and conditions? They take care to put "By clicking the button above you will be redirected to an advertisement page, which is not owned by us. We do not take any liability for the content displayed on the advertisement site." Which means if it is a virus it's not their fault and they don't care if it is. Have a look at reality man. These ads are most definitely harmful. Saying they aren't is just leading way for 5-year-old minecraft idiots to get a virus. Check your facts before you say stuff.

Netb.ee ads are not harmful. They mostly advertise chrome extensions.
And I'm the one who needs to check my facts.
EDIT: Perhaps, people who get an unwanted chrome extension from downloading a mod will learn something and next time will be able to dodge a REAL virus.

The Building Bricks Mod grass slabs look strange on the minimap. They show up as light green instead of the biome color. So if the grass slabs generate naturally, the minimap looks strange.

Might be because they don't have an upward facing texture + no particle texture.

A few small things. You said to disable Fast Render for it to work but instead for me I have to have it on for the map to work.
Secondly: All water on the map appears brown.
Still a great mod and thank you for actually responding to your comments! Keep up the good work

Turning fast render on will force you into safe mode which ALWAYS WORKS but it's horrible and you should not use it. Turn fast render off again and update to the latest version, it might fix the issue.

Hi, I really like this mod and its very helpful but every time i log out of my vanilla server the way points set up are removed and on the full map any previous terrain explored is erased. Im playing 1.10.2 thank you.

Yes actually that was the issue, I had two different IPs i was connecting from, my public and my local and I wasn't aware it saves the way points and map data based on the IP. Thank you so much for the help.

I understand you have been having site-issues and that you got the World Map site back up but I was hoping you would have the site for this back up as well, I am looking for the 1.7.10 download in particular.

The propagation isn't over yet but I will probably get this back up later today.

You can download the minimap through the same site as the world map, btw.

Hey, I think I found a little bug. I just downloaded the latest version (1.10.2.1 on the date of posting) and I've double-checked my mods folder to make sure it's the right version, but it still reports that there's a newer version when I boot up Minecraft.

I know I can just skip these updates, but I thought I should let you know.
