Welcome to the first Adventure map to use an Oblivion style questing system through Video-Created NPC Characters!

Feedback from the players has shown that the general rule here is: If you get your head around the questing system, you'll have an amazing experience. It's actually quite simple! Just take your time. (It's a great story)
This is a NEW type of adventure mapping, where we have intelligently formed an Oblivion/Skyrim style questing system using unlisted YouTube videos where you have NPC characters speaking directly to you; giving us an enormous amount of possibilities in ways to tell our story. (Completely Vanilla Minecraft, no mods!)

This is quite possibly the first map to of ever used this type of questing system!

So rather than signposts telling you to open notes in your folders. The signposts in our map will represent a character.
There are rules in making this system work properly of course, so please thoroughly follow our guides included in the download! It's not too much to read, I tried to make it interesting. It's not too complicated either once you see the logic behind it

About The Series

Paladin's Quest aims to be a huge series of maps which we release in episodes that follow a very strong, deep, epic and fun story to the end.
We already have all the lore ready to be told in a few of our future maps. (You will even find some tiny references in Episode 1).
We are currently creating a world map for our lands, which the adventure will lead around in episodic maps.

Episode 1: "Humble Beginnings"
In Episode 1, you start out as Morris, a grown man who still lives with his mother. When all hope in life seems lost, a job opportunity suddenly arises at the far away Monastery. This is Morris's adventure to get the job and lead on to a better life. But nothing is always so easy, and an unexpected turn takes place.

With the download you get a lot of links and a GUIDEBOOK. Read the guide otherwise you wont understand the questing system. We had a lot of players not reading the guide and they didn't understand anything. And listen very carefully what the characters say. They might tell you very important information.
Texture Packs
The videos are all recorded in John Smith's 32x32 texture pack, which the map looks gorgeous in.
However if you can't use the HD patcher, SMP Revival's 16x16 Texture pack is also pretty good.

Then again... you can play using whatever texture pack you feel like using. But don't blame us if something doesn't look quite right

Oh and please... stay away from Default... BLEUGH!

For let's Players
At the minecraftforum thread you can find a special download for plet's players. The download includes the videos so you can edit them into the Let's Play.

My ultimate plan is to create a long series that surrounds an epic storyline, but it is very time consuming! I'm a 19 year old Film Production Student, studying at the Bournemouth Arts University, UK. So not only have I already got an extremely time consuming course, but I'm not in much of a financial position either!

I really want to spend longer on making these maps so that everything built and recorded is much more perfected. I'll admit, I rushed Episode 1 a little too much, forgetting to focus on things properly (including my editing). - A result of many sleepless nights because when I start working on something... I forget to stop...

I really want to make this into something special. I was a very big gamer in my youth, gathering inspiration from SO many games, I've finally found a way of being able to make and share my own game, without having to learn coding or any such thing. I love entertaining people and with my passion for storytelling, I will be keeping these maps coming whether I get any donations or not.
For any donations I get, I will be keeping the emails, as in future I will contact you about adding a custom quest/character/script/building/easter-egg on a map in your honor, without breaking the storyline ofc.
Things will get bigger, better and much more exciting. All I ask is for you to help. The size of the donation really doesn't matter, because every little helps! All money donated will go towards the project, the team and its expenses.
