Replica of Bodiam Castle (Swamp Castle at Monty Python)

Oh no, not another castle. Well, yes, it is a castle and maybe not en epic one but i think this one is different.

It is based on the famous Bodiam castle. I used floorplans, models and drawings a lot. But, this is not real life so i focused on what i think is important: realism, creativity, interpretation, detail, diversity and above all: fun.

For me, especially the spiral staircases are a succes. I always lose my orientation :) You can find 10 of them and the main ones lead all the way up the (8) towers. I used a lot of different materials for them, cause it is fun gathering them! Overall i tried to use every texture in the book, from bedrock (yes, i used McEdit for it) to sandstone. I used some of the dye-colors for inside walls, just to show them of.

The castle is approx. 50x50 and has more then 40 rooms. Most rooms are not well decorated (yet) although you 'll find the occasional chairs and (empty) chests. No beds yet, still playing 2.02. Important rooms are (follow the signs):

Great hall

Chapel

Prison

Apartments

Stables

Kitchen

Then there is the courtyard. Tried to make it a lively place:

Park

Farm (destroyed by Fairy's :( )

Area for horses

Mini market

Some cosy fires

And see if you can find a portal (follow the noise).

Have fun!

Additional Notes

A lot of textures (see pictures) i made myself (64x64) And i made an art file (available on request)

Nb. note at importing schematics. Don't include water and air. Just place the castle in water with 1 bedrock layer above and 1 under water.
