NOTICE
I am still working on this :) ... it just slowed down due to lack of time :s
Due to the changes made in MC 1.8.0 where Mojang decided to remove all of the unused metadata values, I have been more-or-less forced to remain in MC v1.7.x with this project, as it uses alot of the metadata features.
But this has one positive effect as well... because now I can at least focus my work on this project, without the need to keep in mind any upcoming changes with newer mc releases (which already few times overhauled my work with this project).
NEWS
After a long long time I am slowly getting back to Minecraft, more likely gaming overall and since I bought me a new PC this year I did something as a small celebration, especialy that it took me half a day to make the whole thing work.

This is my first castle build on our old private server, started back in the days of mc 1.0-1.2 iirc.
The map has been since then abandoned, but I would like to return one day to it and finish the build as it is still somehow one of my favored ones, hehe.
Built in survival, but yeah, now and then creative was used (in terms of saving time, especialy for changing view-angles which I usually need to do when building anything), the mats have been gathered manualy in survival, as well as most of it has been build in survival too, yeah...
Right now I am updating the project purely in Creative mode, due to lack of time.
It was my first try... hmm.. actualy my 2nd, my 1st was on singleplayer, probly gonna upload that one as well ... someday... maybe... :)
anyway... that said... this build has a lot of fails, in my opinion at least, as it did not came out as I thought on the first time, but well... I build w/o preparation, pure improvization, so yeah, miscalculations happen (ie. like the not enough space goddamnit facepalm moments several times I faced during building :D)...
...so therefore the tittle... FailBurg.
Attention was paid not just to exterior, but as well as interior, incl. furnishing.
The Castle persists from several districts within it's defensive walls. Military, Trade, Industrial, Public,... Stabbles, Armory, Guard Posts, Barracks, Inn, Alchemyst, Herbalist, Hospital, Blacksmith, Library, Visitor's Centre, Prison, etc.
Outside of the safe castle walls are structures like theRoyal quarry area nearby with smaller farm settlement, a lumbermill and a frozen dock village to north? (mostly done) as well as one to south (not even started yet) to be found.
It is positioned in Winter biome, althought we moved the build later on to a new map so the biome has changed as well as the surroundings, but I will figure it out somehow to bring it back :)
There is no download available atm, but after I will get to a decent point of completion where I will be sadisfied with releasing it into public I gonna upload the map as well as the schematic here for you folks :)
I have found a lot of screenshots in my archive so I have made a big photoalbum of them in case you would like to see more pics, I leave the link here:

They have been made in several custom edited texture packs and at different servers over a course of time, incl. some early build stages.

I've found me a nice map from billoxiiboy so when I will get to it the Castle will get a new landscape :)
I checked it several days ago, but just now I realized what it could do with my 1.7.10 castle project...

and yes, I am working on it... well... more exactly I still want to work on it, did not abandoned this project :)
It is just currently... erhm... on hold stage... missing time :s
As I replied already in previous comment, it will be ... one day.
The only question is when this day will come, and that's a huge unknown even to me atm.
Did not fired up MC in a long time already, so all my work on any MC related stuff is on hold.
Not abandoned needed to say, just unfortunately on a forced pause caused by thing called life :-/
In a best scenario it will be sometimes later this year, or the next one...
/WTB moar time :F
