This is my first competitive map. I built it after seeing some of the awesome videos on youtube with teams of people racing to collect wool.

So, I present my variant! This is designed to test players to the max. It relies heavily on teamwork and skill.

The map has 3 traps, and 4 challenges. Some challenges require skill, others ingenuity!

The aim:
The aim of the game is to collect (at least) one of every kind of wool on the map, hidden in chests around the map. At the same time, another team will be doing the same! Your objective is to collect all 4 first, and place them on your victory monument before the other team. You may use any tactics you like!

Rules:

  1. No cheating (flymods/inv edits/item spawning)
  2. No dyes. Wool must be FOUND!
  3. You may not enter the center zone (where the sponge is). You may not walk on the sponge either.
  4. Once the game has began, you may not enter the other team's lane.
  5. You may break/craft any block as normal in your own lane.
  6. Arrows and TNT cannons are allowed.

How to start:

  1. Organize yourselves into your team, and choose a team number.
  2. Head into your holding area and flip your switch. The other team will do the same.
  3. When both teams are ready and have flipped their switch, the gates will open and you may enter the race.
  4. It is advisable to set your spawn in your side ASAP so you respawn back in the action!

Can you find it?

Anyone interested in this map might also be interested in attending Reddit Minecraft Tournament's Race for Wool open house on Saturday, June 16th (info here).
At the event, you'll get a chance to play some games against some other
new RFW players, and get connected to the RFW community.

By the way, you did a really beautiful job with the depiction of the map above, and I played with it with 7 friends on AdventureLobbies until the server froze all of us, and from that little bit, it seems to be one of the higher-quality RFW maps out there at the moment.
