Goddess of Decay is an epic adventure map inspired by Lovecraft mythos and with a bit of love for the classic Super Nintendo games I played as a kid. It is set in Eastern Europe in the late 1800's amidst a land shattered by prophecy.

2 hours + in length

Horror story with many creepy and exciting locations as well as a plot with twists and turns

Works in 1.2.3

Multiplayer or single player

 In-game music using noteblocks and Minecraft Noteblock Studio. Includes Music from Ocarina of Time, Kirby Superstar, Castlevania 4, and Donkey Kong country 3

Story


Spoiler
It is the year 1896 and you are a manager in a company that specializes in moving valuable goods all across Europe and even to the Americas.

2 months back you sent a small team to deliver a Greek statue from Britain to the small town of Shoggoth in Eastern Europe. The statue was requested to be delivered by Lady Lythalia, baroness of Shoggoth.
No word of your team has come back to you since then except that they were last seen crossing the Romanian border.

You are now on the road to Shoggoth, to find out what happened to your employees and more importantly to receive payment for the delivery. As you journey you will discover that as your men arrived in the area Natural disasters began to strike. Tearing a gaping chasm through the land. Your first goal is to cross this chasm in order to reach Shoggoth. To do so you'll scale a shattered windmill and explore mines abandoned 15 years ago. In which a terrible secret was discovered.

And once you reach Shoggoth that is just the beginning. As you explore further you will begin to unravel a mystery and a prophecy that was set in motion 1000 years ago.

Version 2.0 Changes

- Rules file removed, rules are in the lobby and more clarified
- Added quick notes system, open quick notes if you want all the important information of
a note in short form without all the wordiness
- Added hints file, this file contains answers to all puzzles and quests if you're stuck
- Clarified the directions in the tnt room in the mine
- Added enough items and beds to make every checkpoint suitable for up to 4 players
- Nate's moved back home!
- Nate's cellar is now more obvious
- Nate still only has 1 wheat in the windmill, he's still a jerk
- Fixed some moving water in a room in the mines
- Removed wooden doors anywhere near zombies, now they can shut the hell up
- Fixed a few enderman created issues
- No more items in the lobby hole
- The hole under the ruined house is more obvious and has a warning to stay away if you
havnt been to the inn yet.
- The dog's grave is more obvious
- Fixed double doors
- Zombies in the chasm created a strange hole in a ceiling, fixed it
- Iron doors in the chasm replaced wood
- A sign now tells you where to go near shaft B and after the minetrack sets off the tnt
- Checkpoints have been increased in size and monsters cannot spawn nearby
- Enchanting bottles are now hidden in the later parts of the map
- Fixed a set of windows in shoggoth that allowed you to skip the whole town and
go to the castle
- Changed the notes a bit to clarify important points

Congrats? People speed through games all the time. 2 hours is the average time, some people take longer some shorter. If i wanted to rush through the map as fast as possible i could probably do it in 20 minutes, doesn't mean i should say the time it takes to beat the map is 20 minutes.

Thanks for the quick and courteous reply :) I'm shopping for a new headset at the moment so I'll get a hold of you via skype tonight or tomorrow to flesh out any details. As far as wanting your texture pack downloaded separately from the PMC link that's absolutely fine with me and was expecting that. I'll just put something along the lines of Recommended texture pack + a link to the PMC page underneath the main download as well as all links and credits you specified in the posts/credits.txt .I think this will help us both net a larger amount of downloads :) You're positive about the PMC link correct? Since minecraft forums tends to be where the majority of my downloads come from.

dude i love this map im playing it right now such a good storey line and such a well done map and the windmill music of zelda omg thats my fav song on oot and you put it into minecraft props man ill try to finish it but i suck at fighting mobs so i might day later on in the adventure lol good work and diamond for u. :D

We ran into the problem with the ending, and here's our observations.

We ran the map through earlier versions of Minecraft on single player to try to see where the portals should lead us to, without success. We flew in creative, dynamap and MCedit, and have NOT found any house beaches anywhere.

What I am thinking is that either it corrupted, or that when you deleted chunks to reduce filesize, you deleted the wrong area by mistake. But I cannot be sure either.

Either way, it's an amazing map, just hope you can fix the kinks out of the ending!

Well I am glad you enjoyed the map, to answer the concern over the bug:

With a major game update halfway through a map being built it has caused some unexpected things to pop up. Wanted to give an update on this.

I am currently redoing the ending sequence, whole new tunnel, different direction and spicing it up a bit. Hopefully after a bit of testing the fixed version will be up within a couple hours. Sorry to anyone else who has encountered this bug. Franck I sent you a PM with a bit more of a detailed explanation as well as a ty for going into mcedit and taking your own time to try and see what the issue is.
