Welcome to the city of Greenfield. Once completed, this city will be the largest city to have ever been built in minecraft. The city is very small as it is now compared to the planned size of it. 

This city, is not just a city. It is a world. Experience exploration and adventure like you never have before. Climb up the tallest skyscrapers. Go underground into the darkest tunnels. Walk the streets like as if you were walking around in a real city. Greenfield has so much to offer, it is going to be the biggest city ever built in minecraft once finnished.

Hello everyone!

i know it has been a long time since i have updated this project. Well here it is!

work on this project has come to a very slow progression due to server issues such as not updating properly and connection problems for other players. But those have both been resolved. Server is updated and other players can join now so the work continues!

As an apology for the long standstill i have released the map as it is right now as a mini update as of the 5th april 2012 

hop you guys enjoy it!

and as usual i am open for new builders to come and join us we need all the help we can get!

NEW IP AND SERVER : 01/19/2012 11:21:00 am1/19/12

TrippleX has been kind enough to let us use his server for the hosting of greenfield since the large map size is starting to stress my CPU and cause lag... it is now fully configured and ready to go on 1.1
We also now have a live public dynmap which  can be accessed by anyone when the server is online.

Hello everyone! I know it has been ages since an update but v0.3 is finally here!

I would like to thank my building team for being able to make this city as big as it is today. 

The following changes have taken place:
- Removed alot of half finnished/ugly buildings
+ Added GeorgeTown South
+ Added LincolnPort
+ Finnished the land for GeorgeTown
+ Finnished the land for GreenField Retail Park
+ Mantaro mall
+ GeorgeTown subway station
+ Mantaro Mall subway station
+ various other subway lines
+ rediculous amounts of buildings made everywere
+ Added AshField Bridge

and much more!!

Iv'e noticed how many people have tried to join with minecraft 1.0 

the server is still on 1.8.1 because bukkit hasnt updated yet

you can very easily downgrade back to 1.8.1 with these easy steps:

1. download the .jar file for minecraft 1.8.1 here: http://www.mediafire.com/?fxzt3i39w3kkx0n
2. replace the downloaded jar file with the minecraft.jar found in [User]%AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/bin
3. your done! now you can play on 1.8.1 and connect to any 1.8.1 servers its that easy

also i know the server hasnt been up much lately but it will be up more now

It's amazing ! I really like to explore the city. One of the best Minecraft creations ever.
But I think it needs a better texture pack (something hi-res) and maybe some more underground stuff, like a sewer system (if there is one, I haven't found it).

we want to do a hires version of the texture pack but we havn't got around to making it yet, there is plenty of underground stuff but its rather hard to find, and there is a sewer system, but its very incomplete and most parts of the city don't have it, but thanks!

Now Jester i know you said that your locomotives are built for a diffrent track type and guage and size but i just can't help but feel that the city needs a railroad museum to tell the story of it's railroad past. 

I mean in many cases citys were bulit by the iron horse and some of them to this day have some form of railroad heritage center be it a restored station, Railroad company locomotive shop buliding turned museum, a roundhouse or simply an old locomotive that was donated to the city after the company it worked for went bust. 

Bottom line if i get accepted on the buld team you just give me the space and i'll get it done as well asbeefing up your fire service.

Lol, i had the same idea as you, i was going to build an engine depot but more like a museum.
So at one side they repair the modern engines and at the other side they display the steamlocos!
Kris told me on the server that this was a good idea, maybe if you're accepted to the buildteam you can help us?
