Important note: The custom texture / resource pack for this world is now extremely easy to setup and use ( Please be sure download it and my sound resource pack here to view this world as intended :)
I recommend exploring this world on foot as much as possible to see all of its detail.
I also recommend the "moody" or darkest lighting option in the game.

I have a number of projects in the world I still would like to complete and will be included in future versions.
-Expanded sewer systems.
-Various dungeons and catacombs.
-A number of nearby villages.
-Entirely new areas themed after Nordic, Egyptian, and other cultures.
-Update the subway station to current redstone specs and run lines out to various areas in the world.
-Finish Remodeling of the Colosseum
-And of course continued work to existing buildings/roads/landscape to improve the look of the world.
If anyone has suggestions, or ideas of things that I could add to the world let me know, and I'll see what I can do :)
This world was originally started on Survival multiplayer. Many of the structures throughout the world were built on survival, including the main castle, its wall, the lighthouse, underwater dome, and many of the surrounding buildings.
While still on survival mode a friend had built a massive 1:1 scale replica of the Colosseum. However it was never completed and still needed a huge amount of work after he quit playing. I decided to import Stugaces Colosseum which can be found here to replace it, as it was fully completed.
I have spent a large amount of time refinishing the bleachers, remodeling the interior and changing the blocks to match my texture pack. It is one of the many WIP, but it is one of two non original creations in the world
The second is a massive redstone item dispenser beneath my castle, I forget who made it, but if someone recognizes it and knows whose creation it was I would be happy to credit them here for it.
I have only recently started playing again, and much of that time has been spent updating structures from 1.0 to 1.5 with new bricks (still a WIP), but most are now up to date.
Because of the recent redstone changes I believe many of my redstone creations are no longer fully functional, notably my subway station. I designed and built the station back in 1.0 and it was fully functional at that time for SMP. It was a fully automated set of systems built to handle 12 incoming and 12 outgoing lines with a modular clear windowed tunnel system. I have no idea when I will get around to modernizing the systems in the station, but for the time being it is inoperable.
The majority of the world (especially around the city) is my own creations, but some of the houses, caves, and towers throughout the world were built by friends.
The world is full of many redstone creations such as these
-imported noteblock studio items
-automated subway station (currently broken)
-mock water pumps in the sewers (one of these is very detailed and can actually stop the flow of water in a town fountain, it has a bypass circuit if you do not want the piston running all of the time).
-Dry dock with operating sluice gates and drains.
Most things seem to still work, but some have become a bit buggy after 1.5, in time I will fix and modernize these.
Inside of the main castle there are a number of secret doors (5 that I can recall) All of them are accessible without cheats if you look hard enough :)

The only thing I request that you do not do with this world save is to create and distribute schematics publicly (private use is fine of course).
Otherwise feel free to use this world and modify it as you wish, though I ask that you leave the monument I built for Kristen intact.
You do not need to ask permission to use it as a server, making renders, videos, or even an adventure map.
If you do any of these things and make them publicly available please just give clear and noticeable credit with a link to this page :) Also post a link to it here if you don't mind, I would love to see what others can do with the world.

4-26-20-13To anyone using my texture pack (Guruth-Pack_5.35-1.5.1) or earlier, I believe Ovo_Vine in the CTM folder may be causing game crashes with certainconfigurations. If you are having problems just delete that folder.
4-20-2013 I have had a friend help with a batch file to make the setup of the texture pack extremely easy now.

I have also finished detailing much of the area South of the city walls, added a new forge, finished more interiors, terraforming work, and touched up many other areas.

I have also started building farmland areas outside of the castle walls and doing more work to the surrounding terrain.
A lot of small misc work has been completed around the world as well.

It should be less buggy now as well as a bit more responsive (less delay on some of the spawns)
I also fixed some of the trades on the NPC vendors.

A lot of new terraforming work has been done, some new buildings added, and I think most of the flood damage caused by a worldpainter accident is now fixed.
I spent a lot of time refining and fixing the Colosseum fight also, it should work much more consistently now.
I have also started using a fireplace mod for enabled by Forge. If you do not install this mod some of the fireplaces and chimneys through out the world will be missing bricks.

I am working to get permissions for distributing a mod pack, and possibly will make a tutorial soon for them.

Deserts and flatlands around the city have now been transformed into a massive mountain range. So far this is only a rough start, and much more will be changed in the future. All of the terraforming work will eventually be done in a way that it blends smoothly into any new naturally explored terrain.
The new mountains have allowed me to build a set of new massive dams with functional gates (both still under construction)
I have also built a new functional clock tower for the city, as well as upgraded many existing areas and buildings. A few new buildings have been constructed as well like an orphanage, and a small hospital / crematorium.

I have also made some tweaks to the encounter in the Colosseum, and did a little bit of work around the world.

I have started the process of creating my own line of adventure quest, combat encounters, and puzzles in the world. No longer will it just be a nice place to explore, but a place to live, quest, and fight!
My primary goal for the quest, fights, and puzzles in this world are to make them completely resettable and repeatable. This should allow the world to be used in a persistent manner and allow players to come and go as they wish. It should be great for RP servers, or for those that wish to use the world to build further upon
In this update there is only one major encounter added. It is more or less the introduction to the world. It was sort of a test bed for me to try out some ideas and see if the things I wanted to do were possible
It took a great deal of work to learn and sort out the mechanics, and it definitely can use some improvements (especially in the difficulty of the fight), but I think many might enjoy it as it is.
Everything should happen automatically as you spawn, and everything is pretty straight forward in this introduction. I wrote a number of small ingame books to give more information as well.
I also hope to receive some feedback on this part, and let me know what you find that might be glitchy, or could be improved.
I have added a new island Skara Brae, themed after the same island from Ultima7.
I have also begun work on the town of Paws in the nearby swamp. I made some improvements to the city docks and completed more work on the Colosseum
Once again a borrowed idea from the Ultima games. The world now has 3 moongates (more will be added later).
The way they function is that you simply walk into them and they randomly teleport you to one of the other moongates.
The randomness operates by a simple minecart clock. If for some reason the minecarts stop moving each gate has a nearby (slightly hidden) button that can teleport you into the control room to get the cart moving again.
Since I have so much I would love to do with this world now I am considering getting a bit of help to work on it. If you are capable of the following and have a serious interest in working on this world with me please let me know :)
1. Create and debug complex adventure combat encounters.
2. Create balanced sets of Gear, Items, and custom Mobs.
3. Create and tie together quest lines as well as create dialogs.
Town of Fawn added / Misc : 04/24/2013 6:46:33 pm4/24/13
This update might be a little early, but I believe it adds a fairly large amount of work, notably the town of Fawn (loosely based on the town of Fawn from Ultima7 Part2.
The town includes a many new buildings including housing, the Strange Brew Tavern, Gunther's Iron Works, market place, docks, and princess Bryanne's palace!
The palace is a massive building featuring a ball room, throne room, dining hall, ice skating rink, library, guest room, and more!

I still need to finish the foundations of this area, and work on some more basements, but it is otherwise mostly complete.
Many other small additions and changes have been made to the world.
-Fixed various roads / roofs.
-Finished the Colosseum ground floor remolding (still much to do on the other levels and I need to finish the bleachers still).
-Lever at the portcullis inside the city castles keep now operates pistons to release boiling water on unwanted visitors!
-Fixed some of the coastlines near the Colosseum.
-Spawn point should now be inside or near the Colosseum (let me know if it is not).
-Improved the look of the small hot air balloon to the East of the Colosseum.
