i've always been a big fan of the Harry Potter books/movies and this is my tribute, a 1x1 scale build of HOGWART'S School of Witchcraft & Wizardry!  there are a few builds out there, but none that is as detailed and as close to scale and true to layout as this.  i went by actual blueprints of the castle.  the castle has actually been changed 3 times during the series, so i made the best looking hybrid i could.  the exterior is 100%, but i am still working on the interior, so check back from time to time for updates.  includes quidditch pitch, secret passages (try going through some of the paintings).  the entire castle wont be explorable, but i'm hitting all the Major Classrooms, Chamber of Secrets, Dumbledore's Study, Great Hall, Hagrid's Hut, Wizard's Chess Chamber (Fluffy's guarding it, lol)
current build time is at 1 month, around 100+ hours so far.  will upload schematic when complete

well, im working on it sporadically at the moment... dont have an ETA of completion.  really, im just gonna have the main classrooms (defense against the dark arts, potions, charms, divinity, transfiguration, astronomy, ancient runes, herbology, history of magic & muggle studies) which will be in the next update along with Diagon Alley (stores, three broomsticks & Knockturn Alley) & the Train Station eventually

go to Herbology greenhouse and go into the adjacent building.  take first right and make a u-turn and go up the stairs to the second floor corridor and Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom is first door on left.  go down into the open sink, navigate the sewer tunnels and there is a lever on the right to open the chamber door

ha, i actually had to open the game and look for it myself to give proper directions.  there's also a lever on the right side of the Salazar Slytherin statue that opens the mouth and lets water out.  i know its pretty dark in there, but the Basilisk is in there!

thats supposed to be Hufflepuff.  wasnt sure of the colors since i have pictures of their crest and uniforms with yellow & black AND yellow & purple...

the texture pack i use is a custom compilation pack i made for personal use.  it's based on DokuCraft with several from the Johnsmith pack, some recolors as well as some that i made myself from scratch.  it's a very cool, good looking pack, including mob skins as well.  hope you like!  you can download it HERE http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?pwd5sylz8x213bm

To use the world save extract the .rar file. Then find the .minecraft folder and click on saves, move the extracted file into there. This should work.

i probably have 100+ hours in it so far.  still not quite done.  want this to be the BEST Hogwarts build on the net!  there are a couple on here.  some look like they were hurried through and/or never finished.  a lot of them either aren't very detailed or proportioned right, also were done before the world height addition, so it was impossible to make everything proportionately the correct height.  the chamber of secrets is next, gonna have the secret entrance in the bathroom and all! :P

sure.  remember though, i had to hybridize it just a bit, since they changed the castle couple times during the course of 8 movies.  i put together the best looking and most memorable parts of the castle that i liked.  dont remember the websites, gimme your email and i'll email you all the pictures and floor plans i used

get winrar (its FREE)  zips are becoming a thing of the past.  rar has much better compression.  even better yet, download 7zip (it can/will compress/uncompress ANY format)
