Steve ventured to the front desk. He'd been on a long journey and this was the fifth hotel that he'd stopped at for the day. If he was going to take a break from his adventures, he didn't want to dwell in a place that reminded him as some abstract rendering of a cave, but wanted something warm, cozy, and that reminded him of home. The other ones ranged from actual caves to reminders of the days that he spent in the nether.

This one seemed different. He asked if he could take a look inside before he bought it.

He'd had bad experiences in the past, where he'd tried to stay at an inn, and instead of buying a room, he was convinced to buy just a spot in a bed. That was a huge mistake, and he was definately scarred from it, being from a society that wasn't unlike the city he was adventuring around currently.

This one instantly made him feel at home. It reminded him of the cabin he'd left before he'd created an island resort empire, before he'd created a massive factory on a barren island, and before he'd ventured underwater to build a city. He stepped inside, feeling the soft carpet underfoot as he explored it. The others had been wide open, and not as private as he would have liked. This one had stained windows that made it hard to see in, but he had magnificent views of the city around him. The walls were a soft green color, and reminded him of the forests that he used to chop wood in, and the grass that he long missed from the time that people referred to as "Alpha."

There was wooden panelling on the bottoms of the walls to match the floor. It reminded him of the many houses that he'd built with his hands. There was even a fireplace. A wave of nostalgia hit him like a Wither skull. He instantly purchased the room, and continued exploring. The carpet was soft, a new design, but it reminded him of the old carpets he used to have to build into the floors.

As he ventured upstairs, he found his room, with a massive bed. Off to one corner of it was an interesting design of computer, and off in the other direction there was a closet. It had a painting of a Wither on it, and it seemed to call to him. He opened the door to find a crafting station, furnace, anvil, and tons of chests, laid out just like he used to lay them out in his bases.
He ate a plate of stake that was on the table for him when he went back downstairs, and then decided it was time to go to bed.

He woke to a feeling that was completely familiar to him, one he experienced in his travels all the time. This time it was overcoming as he saw two chairs at the table, two on the loft, and another two around the fireplace. A single tear trickled down his face. The feeling was one of the driving factors of his adventures, and at the same time one of the reasons he wanted to stop adventuring. A feeling that all of us experience at some time.
